β β β β β Basic Chinese restaurant by the seaside that focuses on seafood.
Ambience was decent, getting a light sea breeze and slightly decorated with night lights but constantly annoyed by the swarms of mosquitoes that flock around during dinner time.
Had to just move to a seating with fans in the end.
Food wise was just mediocre with hits or misses with the seasoning.
Single toned curry with a faint hint of assam? Barely noticeable.
The fried squid was just overdone, with the outer layer being a slightly darker brown rather than golden brown.
Vegetables were unevenly seasoned. With parts of it extra salty and some parts just bland.
Rice was undercooked, probably not enough water added, parts of it were just too tough to be chewed on.
Drinks were just too sweet to quench your thirst after all that MSG, how does lemon and plum taste so sweet even after requesting for no added sugar?
Worst of all, the place still uses an antiquated method of collecting payment which is cash, claiming that there is no internet connection in the area, which is quickly debunked as most apps are still working fine.
They won't even give you a copy of the receipt, you would have to take a picture of it if you required it.
Paying a price for something unsatisfying like this can really spoil your evening especially when there were just patrons that constantly smoke and drink all night long.
