β β β β β Hijabis love Bukit jambul complex especially during Raya. Raya curtains, clothes, very easy to get. Furthermore, Mydin also placed there, easy for people to get the groceries. Besides, computer shop and phone shops all in the same place.

β β β β β Someone described it as a pasar malam under one roof n that's an apt description of this old rundown mall. Place is visited mostly by foreign workers n the ambience is frequently like a mall in Indonesia or Bangladesh or Myanmar. Walk outside the mall n you see shops doing their business mostly. Walk inside the mall n you see fast food outlets, handphone stalls, phone repair shops, cheap clothings, etc. Multi storey car park has low ceiling, unpainted n neglected for years. The entire mall has seen better days.
Place doesn't attract the locals, generally speaking. Go if you have a specific need eg to replace a cracked phone screen or buy a new hp. Locals rarely hang out there anymore.

β β β β β The mall is very dated. The ugliest parking lot ever! You'll definitely will have dent in ur car as soon as you come out because of very narrow parking space

β β β β β I really like this mall and come here every time I'm in Penang. Bukit Jambul is an older mall that sells mid- to lower-priced items. The first three floors contain currency exchanges, fast food restaurants, children's games, clothing, and phone stores. I usually exchange money here for the best rate if I'm not in Georgetown. I bought my travel phone here for 15 percent less than in another mall. Had my simcard installed on the entry level. I take my clothes to be altered on a shop on the second floor.

β β β β β Went here for the cinema as it was the only cinema nearby showing a specific movie in a specific language. The ambience of the mall was very sketchy from the moment we stepped into the mall. Place is visited mostly by foreign workers from Indonesia or Bangladesh or Myanmar.
Anyway, we had some time to kill before the movie, about two hours, so we decided to check out some other entertainments like the arcade or the bowling center, we decided to check out the arcade first. Our first impression was it was really dark, very few lights. Though, there were a lot of interesting machines at the entrance.
We decided to check out the rest of the arcade, also known as "AMUSEMENT CENTER" because there may be better machines at the end. We were also looking for a counter to perhaps exchange for tokens. We as young adults, were amused by the fact that there were Subway Surfer machines towards the back of the place, we decided to go check out more machines as it looked like the main area of the arcade where all the good machines are. Without my knowledge, a Chinese uncle started shouting at me in Mandarin.
"KEEP YOUR PHONE!" "KEEP YOUR PHONE!" "KEEP YOUR PHONE!"
I was confused as I didn't understand Mandarin but when he said to keep my phone in Malay, as a collective group, we realised there was illegal stuff happening there. All middle-aged men sitting with backs near the walls of the room. "Definitely" playing Subway Surfers. So, DONT EVER GO THE ARCADE. DON'T. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
In the case of cheap clothing and maybe some cheap tech or a need to buy something that you can only find here, yes it's good. But other than that, please avoid this place if you can. Even if the movie you want to watch can only be found here, Queensbay Mall is better. In fact, any mall is probably better than this sketchy mall.
