★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always a big fan of Japanese foods and I especially like the choices and taste offered by Ichiban Ramen (at this particular store).
The management has changed hand, and prices of food and beverages can be categorized as expensive now.
Used to dine-in frequently years back because their service was good, staffs were friendly. Nowadays, service were so-so.
This restaurant is Halal certified, so dont be intimidated by the unfriendly ambience that seems to exude the vibe like this restaurant is non-halal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff are completely untrained, the manager can literally stare at me waiting for waitress to take my order and she couldn't even bother to step up and come to table and serve me. The entire ambience is the restaurant doesn't care if they have customers they are very inattentive and demotivated.
The ramen broth is the only good thing, else are just below average for the price they charge, ingredients ain't fresh not it feels freshly cooked. You don't feel the warmth in both their food and service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service was absolutely atrocious. The Chinese lady who took my order was extremely rude. Asked her questions about the menu - not answering at all but instead was condescending. Apparently she is the manager! The bad service didn't stop with her - the rest of the staff were equally rude. How long does it take to refill a glass of tea or to get a customer serviettes? At this place, with these staff, it will take 15 minutes. Asked again, and they will show you their palm and tell you to wait but actually never bother to get back. And a service charge of 10% were imposed and added to bill. All the welcomes and thank yous they shout in Japanese were totally meaningless.

Ramen broth is tasteless, very light...
The chashu is also dry... how..? Even though soaking in soap.
Fried chicken katsu, also drryyy..
Only thing we enjoy was the gyoza..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious food here especially their Japanese Fried Rice Set and Spicy Chicken Ramen. Their Garlic Festival menu is very yummy too, generous serving of fried slice garlic! Category A restaurant. Highly recommended if you are shopping Aeon Maluri or nearby Cheras. Friendly staff. 10% discount with Digi Rewards.
