This was one of the best breakfast I have had in Ipoh! Every dish they served was 100% on point! Curry mee, chee cheong fun, 雞絲河粉 are among the best you will find in town. But the one dish that you absolutely must order is to pulut kaya (glutinous rice topped with kaya)! Coffee was rich and delicious. The service from the uncle was hilarious and very enthusiastic and made for a fun eating experience! COVID-19 protocols and best practices were strictly enforced and adhered to by all.

Goof food and service with affordable price. Tried both curry noodle (price 6-7) and kaya glutinous rice (price 3-4).

The curry mee here is OK. Not too spicy and oily. However, its no more offerring cockle and roasted pork. The kaya glutinous rice is good too. The coffee is good but milk tea is bad. The curry chee cheong fun is also bad. Quite huge crowd here during public holiday but relatively small crowd compare to other tourist area.

It was so busy and chaotic on CNY eve! Everyone was out for their breakfast and we were trying to find a seat at 8am. The curry noodle was flavorful and as someone who doesn’t like it to be thick with santan, this was just right for me. The glutinous rice with kaya was interesting and surprisingly tasty! It reminded me of the green layered glutinous kuih. Will definitely come here again on a non-peak season.

I would recommend ordering these dishes : pulut kaya curry noodles. I think the Chee Cheong Fun should be ordered only with the curry sauce, and not the other sauce. Curry really tastes very good. The chicken noodle soup is average. The gluttonous rice was cooked to perfection and went well with the kaya, somewhat reminiscent of the Nyonya kuih that is dyed in blue.

Love the glutinous rice with Kaya. The glutinous rice was cooked perfectly and the kaya was rich and flavourful which is just the way I like it. The coffee was strong though I'd prefer it to be milkier, but can't complain as it's still great. The curry noodles were aromatic but it could have been thicker, and it was quite salty too.

A little further from Gerbang Malam, probably less than 10 minutes walk but the good is worth the walk and can observe some colorful buildings along the road at Jalan Raja Ekram. It's a little crowded most of the time but tables are available. Order the chicken chee cheong fun on the 1st left, you can choose curry chicken, curry pork skin or chicken with mushroom (if I heard correctly). Chee cheong fun is really smooth and chewy. Curry chicken is nicely cooked and it's probably marinated beforehand so I like the taste of the chicken alot. Just that the curry taste abit like the instant maggi curry hotcup, not as bad just didn't expect that. The glutinous rice with kaya and hainanese kopi is a must try. The glutinous rice is one the softer side but has really nice fragrant. The kaya is not as smooth and really special, felt like having a good quality nyonya food. Ipoh has good coffee in any restaurant but this Hainanese kopi is kinda outstanding. Nicely brewed, sweetness is just right, not too "kaw" for me so I can finish the whole cup and not feeling stuffy. The yong taufoo after the chee cheong fun stall has pretty good curry. I prefer this curry more than the chee cheong fun stall which has nice fragrant and more local taste. The yong taufoo wise is nothing really special for me. Fried 沙葛 beside the noodle felt like hashbrown with too much flour and undercooked. The uncles to take our beverage order is really friendly towards other frequent customers and really hilarious. Other than the foods I actually enjoy the good atmosphere by the people in the restaurant

Very nice white coffee and kaya toast! Love the glutinous rice with fragrant kaya too, it wasnt cloying nor sweet! Must order is curry chee cheong fun! Chicken curry gravy was very nice! Would recommend to mix both types of the chee cheong fun?? I wouldn’t recommend the curry mee but i guess worth a try if you’re not from ipoh
