β β β β β This little museum will give you an overview of Malaysian architectural design: from religious structures, to the rumahs, to shophouses, civic buildings, and other buildings. It is both educational and also free.

As the name of the museum suggests, this museum is dedicated to architecture with a special focus on the architecture of Malaysia. The museum is set over two floors with the first mainly historical development of architecture in Malaysian. The first floor also has a quaint section on indigenious beliefs related to the location the creation of buildings e.g. feng shui. The 2nd floor is more focused on the tools and materials of building, styles of buildings of the different states of Malaysia, plus modern architecture of Malaysia.
Some of the scale models of landmark buildings of Malaysia are just stunning and some of the detailed descriptions of traditional woodwork I found fascinating.
The entrance fee is reasonable, but is well worth the money if youβre interested in architecture or carpentry. The only downside is that the modern architecture section is very small. Some more information about iconic buildings of Malaysia such as Petronas Towers and National Mosque wouldβve made the visit even better.

β β β β β Underrated museum. The building itself is an interesting Dutch style residence. The modest size means it's not tiring to complete the tour and absorbed the displays :)
Also the toilet is located in the inner courtyard, hence, you get the olden vibes.
