★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rich place of history regarding Prisons in Malaysia. Exhibits are accompanied with Malay and English descriptions, though reading them in English might be a little bit more straining for the neck.
Strangely haunting, I found it a little eerie as I navigated through the jail cell exhibits (you can enter the cells), spooked by dummy mannequins wearing prisoner uniforms. Well worth a visit it you're in Melaka, ticket is cheap though location is a little more far out (I walked there from Dataran Pahlawan, around 30mins).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For just RM3, you get to experience the life of a prisoner first hand! Definitely worth a visit! There's even a hanging room, but not allowed to take photos there. It's kinda eerie. You can also visit each jail cells, but they're all the same. Also gives you the eerie vibe.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The museum is very eye-opening, and gives you a tiny sense of how awful it is to be a prisoner. For me, the most interesting part was in the showroom where there was a video on how whippings are carried out, and in the second floor where there were multiple explanations on the death penalty as carried out in Malaysia (as well as in other countries).

*Note: The toilet is clean.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty good museum for rm3. Alot of written exhibits but also alot of NSFW ones. Please don't bring your kids. There are graphic photos of death and dismemberment so please be warned. For an hour or two, it does immerse you into what it was to be in a msia prison

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very rocommended for those who likes history. It is very informative. You might spend up to 1.5 h for the whole musuem. It's quite big. The parking is quite hard to find, u have to take note of the sign board. No need to pay for parking. RM3 for the entrance fee. Very worth it.
