★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Its clean, and like just been renovated. Serves Thai, local dish. Typical Malaysian tastebud. We tried the TomYam but the taste is not as authentic as compared to eg Ayuthaya or Parathai. Kailan Goreng with Salted fish is crispy, the steam fish was not overcooked. Fast service. Need to find a space to park as its in a crowded housing area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Asam pedas that i tapau is not so asam pedas. Can't feel the asam and the pedas level is not so pedas. Maybe not my luck today.
But for the sambal hijau Ikan bilis, is really good.
and the tapau price for 2xpax total RM30+ without rice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hidden gems along the busy Jalan Ampang. Definitely a great restaurant for comfort food. And amazingly it was walking distance from my place.
Ordered their signature Sambal Sardin, Sambal Telur Ikan Bilis, Ayam Sambal Hijau and Sup Cendawan. The portion was really generous and deliciously cooked. The service was good as well. Decent price too.
We arrived around 7:45pm and the crowd has yet to arrive. Around 8:15pm crowd started pouring in and we even saw 1 table with Reserved sign. Who reserve a table at Kedai Tomyam right?? Parking could be a little bit challenging as the kedai is situated within Flat compound.
Definitely worth coming to this restaurant and will definitely return!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This must be one of the best keep secrets of cheap and delicious no-nonsense kampung food around KL.
Love the food here. It’s very rare to find roadside “tomyam place” with flavorful marhein Malay fares like what you can find here. Especially love the green sardine sambal and the sambal telur with ikan bilis. The sup tulang and the Asam Pedas are also delicious. The masak lemak was ok lah but doesn’t really hit the spot for me. The sambal that comes with the ayam penyet is a must have.
The place is smallish but clean. Parking is a hit and miss at the nearby flat area, so may need to walk a bit. Last but not least, this place is so relatively cheap! Come early or you would have to fight the crowd to get a table.
