An interesting chance encounter along the streets of Melaka. Be transported to a bar of yesteryears, a hundred years to be almost exact where level 2 of this shop used to be an opium den too. The 4th generation owner, a lady featured in my photo here, is very hospitable and warm. A delightful experience chatting with the lady owner, and understanding abit more about the heritage of this amazing place. Although this shop does not serve food, one is more than welcome to bring your favourite Melakan delights to complement the wide array of liquors available. There are some interesting flavors to sample... Be sure to look out for some locally produced liquors when you are there. Ask the chatty bartender for recommendation. It’s an experience which is definitely going to be like no other in Melaka! :D

Spanning 4 generations and more than 100 years, this is probably the oldest bar in Melaka. The lovely aunty is also the coolest and friendliest bartenders I’ve ever met.

Absolutely loved our visit - amazing place with a rather intriguing selection of local spirits, a ton of history to boot backed up by quite possibly one of the friendliest bartenders/owners. A true gem.

No fancy smancy drinks, just your on the rock liqour of local varieties. Old skool vibe, more like shop house. Bartender is a nice old lady. You can buy by the bottle to take home too.

Found out about this place from a local guide. It's definitely a hidden gem but we were a little confused as we arrived in the morning and the shop looked closed even though it was supposed to open according to Google. After knocking on the shutter (it was half open), Auntie came from the back part of the shop and welcomed us in. Super friendly and open to sharing the history of the bar. Worth a visit as it is the last (if not one of the last) bars of its kind in Melaka.

Old school bar (shop is more than 100 years old), with selection of local spirits. Lady boss is friendly and chatty as well. Drinks here are served on the rocks. Peanuts are provided to munch on while enjoying your drinks

What a quaint place. Really feels like I am having a drink and chatting with my grandma! Lady boss was so friendly and chatty. Had a few drinks and even bought a few bottles. Must try for those who are around jonkers and enjoys a drink. No fancy drinks, all old skool drinks either on rocks, water or max soda. Had a rose flavored rice wine, it was so good had to buy a bottle. Only RM 9 per half shot which is more than enough to try a few kind. Love this place, will definitely be back!
