Sushi Mentai @ Sri Gombak - 68100 Batu Caves

The only one star downer is that the Japanese curry is a little watered down. Other than that, food is good, service is speedy and best of all, very friendly on the wallet!

I love the variety of sushi I can have. Honestly some dishes I prefer go "sKing" but here you can get bigger potion and cheap ☺️

Overall it's a good place dining with family. Pricing..just depends on your decision.. Food is fresh then environment is normal and staff friendly with a sweet smiles.

First time went for takeaway and waited quite long, as we ordered alot. Then they actually got whatsapp number can contact and order in advance. Food quality is average but i think the shop shouldn't charge wasabi and sauce for takeaway, as you won't charge customer when they dine in right.... And the wasabi we bought is totally like no taste.... ?

As a Japanese food enthusiast, Sushi Mentai is always in my list since many years ago. However, I tend to visit less and less frequent due to the services are getting poorer in several branches. On a random Sunday, I gave my first visit to Batu Caves branch and I was surprised with their services and the environment as well. The Environment: It was combined of 2 shops, and the lighting inside is so bright that makes me feel fresh & clean, the air condition was all good, not too cold, nor too hot. Overall cleanliness (including toilet) was well taken care. Food Presentation: Nothing much to blame, just that sometimes the Sashimi may have smaller pieces, but sometimes ok. For its price, boleh la~~? Most importantly, all are fresh. Taste wise, it depends on your taste bud. Mostly are average and acceptable.?? Staffs: I can't stop myself from complimenting to the boss for such a good training to their staffs. I can say "ALL" of them were really Helpful, Attentive, Good Manners, and you'll see those Chefs are all doing very well on their task. All are very focus, fast action, I don't find them chit chatting around like other branches. All mask on. I was so clumsy that kept dropping plates and order bills, the moment it dropped from my table, I can immediately feel the wind beside me. Guess what? That was the staff who rushes over to pick it up for me and says "It's ok, it's ok, no worry, let me help you." But I swear, I wasn't in purpose, sorry staffs, don't hate me. ? When spoke to the boss, also been greeted with big smile. Oh btw, all staffs here are local. The only one improvement to voice out: It would be better if the portion could be consistent. I am a Sashimi lover, most of the time I'd order Sashimi. But I'm kinda surprised to see same order with different portion. Overall is good. Hope the spirit of enthusiasm continues and inspire the other branches as well. Regardless of Foreign Workers / Local Workers. Being enthusiasm has nothing to do with our skin color, but our heart and mindset. Great selection on sushi and Japanese dishes at affordable price ranges. Service was very fast

We were back on May 2, 2022 at around 7pm. The place is crowded but we got a place for two. Service was good as our orders came pretty quickly. The cold ice cream remains really icy cold, just the way we loved it. But we were unhappy that we didn't get the 3 sashimi we wanted as they ran out of stock for the white sashimi salmon. So we got only the octopus with the sashimi sake or red Salmon. Pity they didn't have maguro or shrimp roe. The rest of our usual is California hand roll, tempura mariewase, jelly fish sushi and baby octopus. This is a fairly new branch. So wasn't very crowded. Service and food not bad, could have been better. The cold green tea was really cool. But the pickled ginger jars were empty and not refilled until you had to ask. Sushi was ok except for the rice. Batter was great for the fried stuff. Wasn't very hungry so didn't get to taste others.

The place clean. We queueing not take long time however its iftar time. The staff is friendly and helpful. The sushi is affordable and worth but the salad salmon have much lettuce and it taste bitter, the spicy chick ramen has no taste, and takoyaki too salty. I think its because iftar time so the chef cook so rushing
