Location and service are good, but their breakfast is really disappointing. I paid for a room with breakfast, but the food they served for 3 days are 90% the same. I really never expect to eat the same food for breakfast for that price. The hotel should have at least created a special corner serving different types of food or famous Malaysian breakfast.

I recently visited langkawi last week with my family and I was very impressed with the hotel. Cleanliness is definitely 5 star and buffet breakfast was excellent. The staff were really attentive to our needs especially with my 2 year old sons dietary requirements as well. Looking forward to staying here again soon in the near future.

The view from the property is amazing, but the beach is full of broken seashells, so best to wear some beach shoes if you intend to play on the beach. I must say that I am quite disappointed with the food for a five-star Westin hotel. Stayed at the property 4d3n and had 8 meals including daily breakfast and even the chips that come as a side is poorly done! The property is a little tired but given the cheaper rate, that's acceptable. Service was a hit and miss with only one memorable staff at the Tide restaurant and the beach boys at the beach station. Overall, quite a poor experience for Westin!

I was a little surprised by the Westin both in good and bad ways: Good - Beautiful room with a nice verandah. We got an upgrade as well. - Nice scenery and it feels a lot more tranquil than the Cenang area. Beach was beautiful and private too. - Smiley and friendly service all around. - Three pools (more suited for adults) were still fun for the kids. - It doesn’t feel too crowded probably because the grounds are huge. Bad - As noted, there are pros and cons to the location. - The rooms seem to be in need of upkeep. I mean dark colored grout on the washrooms, our electricity went off at 4AM and had to call engineering to come over to fix. It didn’t seem very becoming of a 5 star hotel. - The food also was not much to shout about, but at least the service was good.

Our second time here after all these years. Last time we were here it was relatively new. Booked last minute for a King room and was allocated garden view double twin room on the lowest floor. Since we had good memories of Westin we expected much this time. Room was quite dated and it shows. Basic housekeeping but not thorough as one would expect. Washrooms corners were unclean, shower area had mold & some were covered up with temporary grout but came loose during our stay. The bathtub was not properly cleaned. Sheets has stain marks but the bed is very comfortable. Room itself was OK. Balcony whilst nice to have but it was not taken care of. The door frame had a terrible case of mold & not updated unlike those rooms facing the pool. Service however in very impeccable & superb. Breakfast spread was solid and one of the best on langkawi Island.

Stayed here for 4 days 3 nights. Will definitely stay here again. <3 Pros: 1. Service by the hotel staff are superb! From the time we arrived until we left. I am really thankful to everyone for taking care of me & my family! 2. We were upgraded to a Premium Partial Ocean View room. 3. Our rooms were cleaned & refreshed twice a day. 4. Wifi connection was strong all over the resort, even at the beach. 5. I would like to send my personal thanks to the Tide Chef for making my daughter's birthday very special. She loved the cake so much! And thanks to the staff for singing Happy Birthday to her! 6. Splash Poolside Bartender also made us special drinks. We loved hanging out here. 7. We loved that there are lots of beach chairs. 8. Our request to join BBQ Buffet Dinner has been accommodated even if it was very last minute. And it was super worth it! 9. The closet door in our room wouldn't close properly, leaving the light on all the time. They were able to immediately fix this issue. 10. Nice gym & fitness center! 11. Healthy food options during breakfast. Cons: 1. Email communication with regards to reservation details was quite slow. It will take 1-2 days for them to reply me. 2. No cutleries provided in the room. There was only 1 teaspoon. 3. Miscommunication: Upon check-in we were informed that we are allowed to use Club Marriott voucher for breakfast. When we wanted to redeem the voucher, the Seasonal Tastes staff said we cannot redeem because it will not tally with their report. However, this is still a Pro i guess since they still allowed us to have breakfast FOC.

The best thing about the property is it’s view, private beach and infinity pool. You are looking for a nice place to relax and rejuvenate, this can definitely be a good spot. However I do want to let all the Marriott loyalists that the service level in the hotel is way below the Marriott standards. Certainly long way to go in that aspect and the staff needs a lot of training. Not everyone is untrained but a lot of them still need to be mentored and guided on guest service. For instance on our way to breakfast buffet, we asked for a table with a view and the staff insisted we sit on the table that she chose. I politely asked her to at least go and take a look first. The reason I did that was because I already saw a table with good view vacant. But she refused to listen and kept on insisting that we must sit on the table. This is one of the many such experience in the resort and I believe the property can immensely improve on this. Also we took the date with the nature package. The 25% discount on spa was not offered to us and I felt that this is not fair when they have claimed it in the hotel page. Also the special dinner menu is absolutely lousy with one chicken and vegetable option. One can easily get disappointed by looking at that menu and I strongly suggest the hotel to completely take it off the menu if they can’t afford it. Luckily the staff and chef at Tide restaurant were swift enough to make changes in our dinner menu and offered our dessert complimentary. Thanks to them.

Well, staying on Langkawi for the Easter weekend which is probably a very crowded period. Westin is booked out 100%, hence there will be a little queuing for breakfast (unless you are an early bird). Scenery is fantastic and it's in walking distance to many local restaurants. There you get super tasty food at very low prices. However, the Westin is a really nice place to stay. Building is a bit old, but well maintained so far. Pools and gardens are really kept perfectly clean! Staff is friendly (but of course at such a weekend very busy keeping up). I find Langkawi perfect for traveling in less touristic environments. Far less crowded than the famous places in Thailand. It's a tax free island, so the prices for most things seem to be quite reasonable, considering that all needs to be shipped in from mainland. I'm loving it here and I will return frequently, since traveling restrictions are no longer in place....
