Authentic Hunan cuisine, food was tasty and spicy, just a tad pricey ☺️

So far the best Hunan cuisine I enjoyed eating in Penang. It has a long list of dishes in the menu.

Authentic Chinese food. The food are on spicier side but it is tolerable. Portion are just nice for a family. Attentive waitress and food were served swiftly.

I love their Spicy sour potatoes 酸辣土豆丝。Portion size of the food is smaller. If the boss and staffs can put more smile on their faces, I think they can get 5 Stars from me next time.

Service was really slow and no server bother to approach us after we rang for service several times. She took our order with a gloomy face and told us to move to another table as 3 of us sat at a table for 4. ( no social distancing meh?) Food were basically consisted of 2 flavors: spicy and oily and can't really tell the difference. Portion tend to be small, you need to order more if you dine as a family. Parking is limited and off the road.

Hunan Cuisine. In Penang. The chef n owner really are from Hunan Cuisine. I saw a great many Chinese nationals dining there, laughing merrily. It's a gastronomic adventure. Unlike the milder Cantonese cuisine popularised by Hong Kong and many American Chinatowns, Hunan cuisine is...sharper. not necessarily hotter in chilli terms, but with a tang that doesn't burn the tongue and saltier to boot. Those who like Cantonese or even Hokkien and Teochew cuisine may find Hunan dishes a little heavy on the flavour side, but it is nonetheless worth trying at least a couple of times. I took pix of menu items i thought would be interesting...
