Very bad! I was cheated of money here, I didn't expect to buy a SIM card at a 7-11 convenience store and be cheated to recharge the amount! And then we discovered that this is very common in Malaysia! Everyone be careful! My boyfriend and I haven't encountered anything in any country in Southeast Asia, but in Malaysia. I didn't expect it! A week ago, my boyfriend and I arrived in Malaysia. Our SIM card was bought by Kuala Lumpur at a convenience store next to the big mall near the Petronas Twin Towers, not the same day, he was one day earlier than me. On the first day, he bought the Umobile card. He bought it at 7-11, it cost 68RM, and it was a 30-day package. We found Umobile to be particularly slow. (Address 7-11, same mall as No. 10 Hutong: Lot 10, Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) So the next day I bought a Digi card at another convenience store, probably KK. It was also 30 days. They received me 78RM, not only the recharge money, but also the SIM card money and the other two ringgits. What's even more hateful is that they said that the extra money will not hit the small ticket, and I agree! In fact, the small ticket even buys water to buy a SIM card, only ten or twenty RM, and we have all thrown away these small tickets! The network speed of the card I bought is also extremely slow, and the pictures cannot be sent out. Our Google maps often don't work! I have been to so many Southeast Asian countries and have never encountered such a thing! We are all in chain stores, including chains like 7-11, and we trust them. Soon, a week passed and my boyfriend felt strange that he couldn't get online. We downloaded the communication company's app and found out that the SIM card had expired and did not recharge us with the 50RM he paid. I also quickly downloaded the Digi app, and found that my expiration was about to expire, and it was a week of use! I'm really angry, I didn't expect Malaysia to kill tourists like this! Needless to say, it will be cheaper to recharge on the app. Not even expecting to encounter clerk scams in convenience stores in Malaysia! And after searching the Internet, I found that not only we encountered such a thing, but also other people. There are already three people in this forum alone! They even encountered such a thing at the airport at Digi's booth! And my boyfriend and I bought cards at different convenience stores and at different times, and encountered the same problem, which shows that such things are really common! There must be many people who have been cheated of money!
