★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Air Itam dam is one of the most interesting and charming places on the whole Penang island. It is a perfect spot to start a walk in the hills. There are a few shorter options, which will take you to the local Taoist temples or to the mountain (well, hill) passes, which lead to Batik Pulau, but you can also make a longer trek to Penang Hill and the upper station of the funicular.
Great place for watching wildlife.
