★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Malaysian legal fraternity including the judiciary have suffered a loss of credibility under the previous Malaysian government for obvious reasons.
I am a Singaporean who had chosen to live in JB because of persecution from the powerful and wealthy Singapore government.
THERE IS NOTHING THAT THE SINGAPORE GOVERNMENT CANNOT BUY INCLUDING TRUTH AND JUSTICE.
However they could not buy Mr. Arun Kasi. I was blessed when Mr. Kasi agreed to represent me against the JB immigration for detaining me 28 days illegally in Pekan Nanas without charging me in any court of law.
Most importantly Mr. Kasi had never met me previously but agreed only to represent me on the basis of his consternation against this illegal detention. I believe he is a lawyer not interested in fame or fortune but only for truth and justice.
He is not a boisterous man who screams and shouts but his demeanour and soft respectful voice is louder than a lion.
He is a man of action and his weapon is his shrewd intellect.
I will be forever indebted to Mr. Kasi for my release from the depths of hell (Pekan Nanas) after 36 days. He also managed to rescind the unnecessary planned deportation in humiliating handcuffs.
Finally he has also rescinded the 2 year ban of the JB immigration.
Mr. Kasi has restored my faith in lawyers who I used to hold in great contempt.
I can only describe him as simply the best and better than the rest.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mr Kasi defended my brother, Gilbert Louis in a landmark case which saw the removal of the ouster clause to effect greater transparency, and justice for all, regardless of nationality. It was a gigantic step towards greater democratization for Malaysia which puts her way ahead of many other countries in the region. Mr Kasi, fearlessly defended his client with robust and pertinent arguments and was able to secure victory for justice, not just for one man. He paved the way and set a precedent in law from which others will benefit for posterity. Surely, his name should go down iin history for this, often perceived as impossible feat.
