★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been stalking balai buku raya instagram and just got the chance to check this book store last 2 weeks. It was a small bookstore but their books collection is incredible. The owner is so cool and a passionate book collector too. It's nearby to Tinta Budi (one block away).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located in the hipster-friendly Zhongshan building, Balai Buku Raya is probably the most understated bookshop in town. It has some of the most unique titles that I come across in secondhand bookshops. The prices are a bit higher than most secondhand places, but I think this is justified as some of the books here are not the easiest to find. The owner was also super nice and accommodating that I couldn't step out without buying a book. I'd do the same next time I go for a gander here.
