You certainly don't come here for the customer service. I arrived at 3pm and was met with a question, what do you want? Only to get a reply that I'd have to wait. And this was the same with all the patrons that came after me. But is it worth it? Absolutely, yes! The banana fritters (pisang goreng) are divine. Golden, fragrant, crunchy and oh so sweet! There's no best time to go as I am certain you'll have to wait but a little patience and you will be rewarded!

Surely anyone who have had visited this place will agree the food is great! Among some of their items like niangao, banana, sweet potato, curry puffs and sesame balls. The stall is usually crowded with customers waiting and wanting to order their signature fried food. Expect waiting time. But friendly vendor even though attending to demanding customers.

Although I stayed in Brickfields for few years during my college days, I've never knew or realised such a famous stall existed. I always walked the pass the stall. Only recommended by a friend a few days ago. Dropped by bought 2 pieces of kuih bakul. It tastes so good, less oily and nice filling. Will try pisang goreng, bola bijan & curry puff next time.

One of best goreng pisang ( fried banana fritter) in the town with very reasonable price. Actually, all his fried foods are super tasty , you won't regret buy from this stall. Only thing, you need to be patience to wait for him to fry and luck, because not all items are available at your times....very quickly finished. For tourists, give a try of our local kuih bakul (sweet glutinous sandwiched between yam & sweet potato) very unique - crispy at the same times, chewy and sweet, good for tea-break snacks. ?? Not easy to find in other street-foods.

Ordered 2 goreng pisang & 2 fried niangao. It cost RM1.50 each now. One of the fried banana was not using ripe banana & was so still raw. Taste awful. And the niangao do not have yam & only using 2 purple sweet potatoes.

Came back to this pisang goreng after a decade. surprisingly there was no queue at all when we were there around 12 noon. Bought the curry puff and pisang goreng, never disappoint me :) But bear mind that best to eat the pisang goreng while it is hot, otherwise the dough won't be as good anymore. Price is RM 1.50 for pisang goreng and 1.70 for curry puff.

If its not for health reason, we will snack here everyday! Located at the junction of YMCA Brickfields. This father and son team has been and is still an internet star known as "Mr Chiam's Goreng Pisang" but now to make it more localised "Brickfields Pisang Goreng". Other than their curry puff going for RM1.60, the rest such as banana fritters (goreng pisang), fried nian guo or the malay calls it kuih bakul (a caramelised glutinous rice flour sandwiched between a yam and sweet potato slice), and bola bijian popularly known as "chin tui" by the chinese (basically a sesame seed ball) goes for RM1.40. Each time i visit this stall, my refrained order will be at least 2 curry puff, 2 banana fritters and 2 nian guo. Don't really fancy sesame ball (bola bijian) though. Their curry puff is something worth queuing up for and definitely better than thise in IKEA. Their goreng pisang literally melts in your mouth and the nian guo gives you that comfort food feeling! All these comes with a crunch that is so so crunchy and its like asmr of the audiophiles world. All these heavenly food/snacks are wonderfully crafted not at the stall (other than the goreng pisang - really admire their banana QC - they actually check each banana before coating with the batter), but in a kitchen on the 2nd floor of the building where the stall is located. Its transported diwn using a rope and basket and commnicates with a 2 way radio! If you have no health issue, Its a sin not to visit Brickfields Pisang Goreng every other day! Note: (1) Don't bother to come after 1530hrs or 1600hrs as 90% you will be disappointed as everything would have been sold out. (2) Business starts at 12noon and dont expect to be served fast as queuing is a standard and not an option. When you need not queue, count yourself darn blessed on that day. (3) No seating capacity at all. Just buy and eat standing or enjoy it in the comfort of your car

I don't know why for a long time I've avoided this place. Maybe it was too far of a walk, the long lines or I'm not sure if it's gonna be open that day or not. But seriously, it is worth the effort to queue up and buying more than a few because these fried pisangs are so addictive. The oil coating is super soft and flavourful that you just bite through it. Plus, the dude is wearing a banana shirt while deep frying his bananas. Can't top that.
