Best Fishing area in Malaysia

N	Nabil Bisig on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fishing pond in the south tip of penang. Bait only, no lures allowed. 3 hours 40 rm per rod. Bait available to buy. Noone that works there can speak English but we were lucky and another person there could translate for us. Has snapper and barramundi. All fish caught belong to you at no extra price (we actually wanted to release the fish but weren't allowed instead were able to sell the fish to the owner for a few rm per kilo.) caught a nice snapper and lost a barra of about 5 kg in 2 hours.
J	Jacob Goh on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hotpot Seafood and Nyonya Fish is really good. The rest such as crab and vege is pretty good as well. Price wise is acceptable. When I visited, the fishing stage is close but the restaurant is still operating. Worth coming here.

I actually spent all day fishing off the sea and om returning, I spent a few hours here while waiting for the jam in the city to ease up before going home. I liked how colloquial the place felt. This truly is a village. And it felt surreal that I can take a short drive from George Town and reach this classic fishing village setting and still be on the island. I didnt see anyone fishing though. As an angler with a keen eye for water bodies, I have to say there is too much algae in the water, nor did I see many rises. I ordered stingray in Nyonya sauce. Too bad it was a little too sweet. But wow, the stingray was darn fresh.

C	Chun-Har Ch'ng on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great seafood with fresh ingredients, and cheap. The only downside is that there are a lot of mosquitoes due to the surrounding. Their pond is not fenced so if visit with small children, extra care is needed.

Besides that u can order dishes, crabs cooked in variable methods, teochew steam fish, and we order a mixed seafood dish in gravy which was good. We also ordered a bottle of home made nutmeg juice Verdict: worth a repeat visit
A	Andy Lo Tern Chern on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Previously known as Gertak Sanggul fishing Stage. A well upkept pond for fishing with restaurant beside. Main species to expect are Groupers, Barramundi and Snapper. Price for fishing is RM100 for minimum 3 hours, and RM130 for 5 hours, per rod. Payment at counter with a RM30 deposit before fishing. No lures, treble hooks and sabikis allowed. Live bait fishes and prawn (recommended) available for purchase at counter subject to availability. New fishes are released at 12pm and 3pm but it doesn't affect the catches. Anglers can expect go home with 3 to 4 fishes of about 1 to 2kg each per session. The pond is not very big, and can be crowded during holidays and weekends. I went on a Thursday and there were about 30 rods into the pond. Be careful with where you cast as not to tangle with other lines. There are shelters and chairs by the pond, equipped with rod holders and taps for washing. Only downside is some irresponsible anglers leave their garbage and bait there, dirtying the place. For the price I expect better cleanliness and mentality of anglers.
