Wanted to tried gong pian here. But I was late and it is almost closing time. Bought Biskut Jerry (I don't know what it is called in Chinese) instead. Biskut Jerry is reallyΒ² good.

I normally don't fancy traditional Chinese biscuits which tends to be dry. But Cheng Li's biscuits are something extraordinary, crunchy and the tasty meat inside makes a great combination. It is cooked the traditional way with charcoal and I am a believer of old methods, slow food. I personally prefer this place over the other popular onion filled Cheong Cia Gong Pian, which was pretty good too.

There are many shops in Sitiawan that sell kompiang including the famous one near Wisma Ganda. But for me, Cheng Li is my go to, as there are lesser queue but as good if not better than the famous one. They have limits in terms of the number of kompiang they can produced every day. Either book in advance or go early to buy and eat fresh!

A must try Sitiawan food. Gong Piah, a charcoal freshly baked biscuit dressed with sesame seed using heated pot, ingredients include original garlic and grilled bacon. Has a fresh crispy texture, soft on the inside and smokey taste.
