This is not the legendary egg tart shop, very bad egg tart instead. The real one is in Kampung Simee and hv to google Choy Kee bakery

Egg tarts tasted just ok, egg filling is not too sweet but not eggy enough. Cheese tart also not cheesy enough. Siew pau and coconut tart is good though.

The name of Choy Kee (才記) is synonymous with egg tarts. Original one as a stall inside Kg. Simee wet market, one as a shop along Jln. Gunung Rapat and one more as a shop near Bercham wet market. The egg tarts here at Bercham are fabulous with its rich egg custard within a flaky crown base. Enjoy the fragrant egg flavour and the crunchy bite onto its pastry. The other pastries are also worth trying. Good food for your breakfast or afternoon tea.

We especially came to have egg tarts. There are 2 known locations, best to our knowledge. One is in Bercham (branch) and another in Kg Simee (HQ). Understand that they have a stall inside the Kg Simee market, too. We love egg tarts (the good ones only, else we would rather not eat), and those from TK Bakery (KL/Subang famed) and Nam Heong Old Town can not beat Choy Kee. The closest are those from Foo Hing dim sum, but the size is too small and pricey for that. Texture wise, the pastry is fluffy and flaky. The egg fillings, smooth and not sweet, burst with aroma once it enters your.mouth. What makes it even better is that the price and size - one can not possibly complain when it's only RM1.80/pc!
