★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I rang ahead to audition some Dynaudio speakers and was told 'No problem' by an older sounding gentleman. However when I arrived the fat guy (didn't get his name) behind the counter was extremely rude and wasn't inclined to help. I left and obviously won't be spending my money there. Is it really so hard to do as promised and be nice to people?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am not someone that writes reviews very often whether it be a hotel or as in this case a HiFi shop. However, I have had such a great experience from CMY that I wanted to write this, if anything as a thanks to them. I have visited the Starling Mall outlet several times for small items, speaker cables, fiber optic connectors, that sort of thing and each time have been very impressed with the broad range of hifi equipment that they stock. It was during one of these visits that I got listening to some of their Dynaudio range of speakers. These get great reviews in the press and as I had just purchased a new digital streamer/amplifier I wanted to match some good speakers to it. Long story short I decided on the Dynaudio Special 40 bookshelf speakers and stands. Alas, due to Covid the store was closed so I purchased online. At 1pm I submitted the order and by 5pm they were sitting in my lounge! Now in anyone's book that is a great delivery speed. However, things don't stop there and unfortunately there was an issue with one of the speakers - I understand that these things happen but it is always a disappointment when it does. I happened to have the number of one of the CMY managers and at 9:30pm sent a message telling him of this. I didn't expect a reply until the next morning but within the hour I had not only received a reply but a promise to have a replacement next day! True to their word they came, swapped and everything was singing - literally! What could have been a bad experience was totally turned around by dedicated staff (Thank you Dicky, John and Sean!) and left me feeling totally - probably more so - satisfied. It is actually problem solving that makes people happy! I have confidently given 5 stars to this review and stand by that by the experience that I had. Satisfied customer? Definitely! These guys also know their products well - a great experience all round.
