The suites at the Coffee Atelier are great place to stay in historic Georgetown. They have multiple rooms and a small backyard. The interior is cute and convenient. I liked the 'study room' where you can hide during your trip and work a bit on Email etc. The Coffee Atelier is perfectly located, so you can start exploring the town and enjoy the street food stands in the evening, which are just around the corner.

Staying in a shop house set up beautifully maintained property in the heart of George Town. The breakfast is the best part and the staff Ruby and Judy are very accommodating....they waited for us till late evening for us to pick our bags from the hotel after our entire day outing.

Conveniently located at the heritage area of George Town, many places are easily accessible from here. One of the days during our stay, the owner (the ang moh guy) happen to be at the cafe and he came over to say hello. All the staffs are really friendly and helpful too. Very spacious suite for the affordable price, but might get noisy at night as there is a party hostel right opposite. And rooms are not very sound proof, so opening of doors and stuff gets noisy at times. Overall, still happy with the stay.

Was fascinated by the name of the place, then realised it was converted shop houses, so I was won before I even arrived. I was not disappointed, but note this place isn't for everyone, especially those with mobility issues, as rooms are accessed by a steep set of stairs. The rooms are huge and beautifully set out with our suits consisting of a big bedroom, smaller single bedroom, sitting area overlooking the terraces opposite and a very big, semi outside bathroom. There's plenty of drinking water available from a dispenser to lessen the amount of plastic used. Breakfasts in Cafe 55 are enormous and very well prepared. Staff are wonderful. I can't recommend this highly enough.

Myself and two friends stayed here for three nights recently and have to say what a lovely place it is. The rooms are beautiful and the breakfast was fantastic but the highlight for all of us were the two Philipino ladies who run the place for the owner. (unfortunately I can't remember their names, apologies) They are absolutely fantastic, so helpful, so friendly and just always happy to see you. I can't imagine this place would run so well without them. Beautiful surroundings and plenty of eateries nearby. Recommended.

Great place to stay. Nice laid back atmosphere and close to everything...but with feeling of being just far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Rooms when I stayed were on the more expensive side compared with similar rooms available, however on a whole - I enjoyed the experience of staying in a place with a charismatic ambiance. I recommend it.

Great quaint Hotel and Café. Excellent location in the heart of the heritage town. Rooms quiet and surprisingly big. Comfortable beds. Booked multiple rooms for an event. Both the suites which have a single and a double and the ground floor double rooms are very nice. Breakfast simple but good. Service by the three housekeepers was exceptional. Arrangements for the taxis for guests coming at different times was perfect. Strongly recommended for a stay in heritage George Town

This place was one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed. We were in room 47, upstairs. The stairs are steep and the doorway is narrow, but that’s the worst of it. Keep in mind this building is an historical site and has had it’s original character maintained. The king size bed here was great, the pillows were excellent and the air conditioning, as well as ceiling fan were more than enough to keep Canadians cool, even under the most comfortable cozy duvet. We enjoyed the best sleeps here. The breakfast at Coffee Atelier is really great and included with the room. Of course fresh squeezed orange juice, barista coffee, fruit, cereal or eggs, toast, yogurt. The choices are good. The lady’s that run this hotel are the best you’ll ever find. The location in George Town is perfect. Lots of great street food, Indian food and great variety within 5 minutes. Love lane has several restaurants a few blocks away. Almost all of the cool old town tourist sights including most of the famous street art are within walking distance. We even walked to Komtar from here, but that was more like work. They have a water cooler to refill bottles, a nice way to cut down on plastic. We would definitely stay here again!
