★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I registered for a tour of the Cookhouse in Seventeen Mall on Wednesday 7th April at 6pm. I had to take time off my busy schedule because I was told that I am able to see the units, and all the facilities if I sign up for the tour
Upon arrival, the lady co-owner just greeted me with ‘Oh hi’. Then the next question she asked me is what business am I looking to do. I told her I haven’t decided yet. Then she prompted a staff to open 2 empty units for me but at the same time just stood there looking at her phone and totally ignoring me. I asked her whether she is interested in showing me around and she replied that she prefers someone who already know what they are selling rather than someone who just want to check out the facilities. As her attitude was extremely rude and lacking in basic communication skills, I left. I get the impression that she is only interested in serving people of her own gender.
Treat all your potential customers with courtesy and acknowledge them with the proper honorific. It’s not a party, you can just say oh hi! It is also bad business sense to be so cocky. To expect those to book a tour only when they have a concrete business of what they want to sell is cutting your nose to spite your face. Have you ever thought perhaps I could have introduce you to my business associates or talk about you in a good light to everyone? This is known as passive marketing.
However, based on the above bad experience, I don’t want anything to do with Cookhouse and will have nothing nice to say about your company when asked by anyone nor will I patron the businesses within Cookhouse. Bad customer service and leadership skills
