Friendly local hosts, on Monday, a drum (Rebana) performance, Silat martial art performance, Congkak playing and Kite decorating. The allow participation on the Congkak and Rebana. Interesting and free. However, please note that all activities is outdoor (shelter with zinc roof), so very hot during a hot day. And not enough shelter when it rains.

Great place to learn about Kelantan's heritage. Can play many classical games like gasing, congkak, baru Seremban, etc... Also watch drum play. They also provide tours that includes many of Kelantan's famous place and art works like traditional wau (huge kite) making place, traditional textile factory, fishing village, traditional puppet making place and many more. Look for the person in charge of the Cultural Centre who is very friendly and can speak many languages including English. Good place to start for anyone who wish to explore Kelantan.

Been there at 14 April, 3.30pm, only perform a rebana ubi showcase with 3 difference beat. No silat & gasing show, becoz yesterday was Israk Mikraj holiday. But it a good effort and free show. A lot of local and foreign tourist as spectators and they can try beat the rebana.

For updated info on the activities performed in the Cultural Centre you can check out the Kota Bharu Tourist Center. From February to October they perform traditional activities, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 3:30-5:30PM, and on Saturday 9-11PM Shadow play performance. I went to the cultural centre to watch the Wednesday afternoon performances, and it was a fascinating experience! It was completely free, entertaining, and a way to preserve the culture of the region. The host explained each performance we watched, giving context. I especially loved the art of self defence (pencak silat) demonstration, it was beautiful. There were very few people there, so it would be great if more people would come and support this wonderful initiative!
