You should try. CIMB cardholders can get discounts fyi, so extra value there. Nice food, discounted price. This was only the 3rd time I dine at De Wan and so far all are well. Staff are very attentive too, great service in general.

1. Counter, already reserved at 11am for lunch but had issue with understaffed, they open it at 1115. Acceptable 2. The waiter n waitress are friendly. They were good. ? 3. Appetizers. Satays meat n chicken were deliciously superb. ? 4. The main. We ordered jenahak asam pedas n its sweet. Lamb kuzi also sweet. Kerabu pucuk paku (fiddleheads) also sweet. Terung berlado (eggplant with saute fresh chillis) mildly sweet. Everything were sweet. ? 5. Dissapointed with asam pedas though. Its not savoury as suppose to be. ???. 6. Drinks were delicious. ? 7. De wan bangi. I will not recommend to family and friends.

A restaurant founded by the crowned chef of Malaysian cuisine Chef Wan. Located at the peak of Bangi Golf Resort. Beautiful, colourful and flamboyant interior nothing less of a hotel ambience. However I must say, the food, service and quality of utensils, and the whole experience in general seems to be lacking and not up to par with the exorbitant price charged. Menu is purely traditional Malay and made to be served for groups (four pax and above). To elaborate; 1. Food: The "jumbo" squid used were too tough to chew and even harder to swallow. Unsure if it was overcooked. The prawns used did not taste fresh and may be overcooked as well in their masak lemak. Presentation of the Asam pedas fish could be improved as it looked like someone just cooked from the home kitchen. Broccoli garlic dish was not seasoned well. 2. Service: The staffs were not well trained especially ones wearing the black uniform, I suppose they were part time workers. They should go through basic table service training given that this is considered a luxury high end restaurant. They even wiped the tables using the tissue paper. 3. Quality and geberal standards: There was a juxtaposition of quality in terms of utensils used. The platings were okay but you can feel the flimsiness of plastic cups used to serve the customers. And there was even the "air cuci tangan" from the plastic kettles used in typical Malay wedding on display which I feel was inappropriate. With all of this mentioned, the manager offered service recovery to provide us with another meal session but it arrived 1 hour later. I hope all of these pointers are duly noted and improvements are on the way. I wish for all the best and look forward to see the better version of De Wan.

Totally love the decor, staff uniform + attentiveness, very friendly, and knows what they are selling. I appreciate the explanations given, very well-versed with the menu. Since it was just us 2 adults ansd 2 kids, we didn't had the chance to order more. We love both the rice, but the kids preferred white rice - the staff were wonderful about this. The dishes we ordered were so delicious, as expected. Chef Wan is totally my Malaysian Gordon Ramsay. So I have been wanting to dine in, we only had the chance to order the tiffin during lockdown. In picture: Broccoli and Mushroom (can't remember the exact name), Ikan Jenahak Bakar with 3 chilli dips (so good), rice, and waiting snacks - rempeyek. Only wished that the broccolis were cut smaller / bite size, because the kids had difficulties handling and eating them. Too slippery to cut so yes, smaller bite size woild totally be easier for everyone. Wouldn't want any Pretty Woman scene in this whimsical restaurant! ?

A cozy premium restaurant located within the hotel. Nice ambience, friendly staff. We were served promptly upon arrival, waiting time for the food were good. The foods were tasty. The de wan coffee though was a tad too sweet.
