★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Desa Balqis has so much potential that it is a shame little things mar your experience. Here are some suggestions for improvement.
1. At check in, please do a safety briefing or provide a safety pamphlet. A location of the fire extinguisher, first aid kit, beware of mosquitoes and monkeys etc.
2. Provide basic kitchen utensils, like plates, bowls, cutlery including a kitchen knife, dish cloth, washing up liquid and sponge, garbage bags. Or please mention in your website that guests should bring these items.
3. Provide shampoo and conditioner, and toilet rolls. Or mention in the website for guests to bring their own.
4. Please do not put sugar in our breakfast drinks. Provide sugar on the side.
5. Provide beach towels. Only one towel per guest was provided. No towels for children. Or mention in the website for guests to bring their own.
6. Provide an alternate route to the beach. Or provide a handrail at the steps.
7. Provide clear depth marking at the swimming pool. This is a potential hazard.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sorry not reccomended..the whole place need to refurbish..the house wood look old and not well maintained..The dust on the cupboard not been clean. Cleanliness is very poor. The pillow case got hair on it like not been change or wash. The sachet drink provided was already expired. The pool was dirty, got pee odour beside the pool. The shower at the pool not functioning at all. Lastly, surely not coming back at all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When there for food, the restaurant really looks good. I ordered 'sup cendawan' and nasi goreng USA. My sister ordered tomyam, nasi putih and telur dadar. The taste wasn't that great. My sup, almost all the vegetables wasn't cook. Usually people will used chicken for the sup. But i guess since i order sup cendawan they used nothing as a sup base. My nasi goreng USA was okay la. I have eaten better than that. My sister tomyam, felt like sup sambal. There wasn't that sour kick in tomyam like most tomyam do. The telur dadar was to oily for her taste. The cons, price was cheap, the otak2 taste great, the drinks was delicious. Will i being going a second time? Nope. There are other shop around there with cheaper price and taste good. I dont mind if price is expensive but the taste also need to be the same level as the price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really disappointed. It is marketed as Malay traditional resort but there is no resort vibe at all. More like a kampung rental home.
The house was dusty. The toilet/bathroom was okay. The breakfast was delivered to the room but the food was bad. We got a bungkus mee hoon (like ones you get at warungs) and it tasted so bland.
So basically it is not worth your money. As it is quite expensive, I expect a better service. So, not recommended

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've just recce the place so far it is not very condusive (maybe they haven't done clean it up yet). And most importantly, mosquitos is big issue over there! Beware of those coming with kids.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My 2D1N (21-22 May 2022) stay at Pak Anjang house was superb!! Huge & clean kampung house.. yes.. so many mosquitoes there! But, no issue.. mosquito repellent provided. Nice pool! Everything was just find! Worth stay for my family gathering which consist of 7 adults + 8 kids
