The 6-years old Taiping trademark cafe restaurant just moved to lake garden vicinity with great views plenty of carpark, spacious layout, can't complaint much on the simple minimalist layout. Coffee mocha was great as usual, my very picky Dad surprisingly love the garlic fried rice, I'm digging into the very cheezy mushrooms omelette, spaghetti aglio olio was yummy. Generally their foods are great, probably bit pricey for Taiping standard.

Cozy place to sit and relax. The wide open windows gives a spacious clear view of the rain trees near by. Food wise taste is good, had only tried the black pepper chicken chop, and I can confidently say that its among one of the best in Taiping. As for coffee, its passable when compared to cafes as other region. Lastly price is considered slightly on the high side for a small town like Taiping. Overall would recommend visiting this place for the food, quick coffee fix and work/relax. Have been visiting them every other day during my stay in Taiping.

A spacious cafe with a big car park beside it. Visited during weekend and boom it's full house. And they seem short of manpower, as they have no one handling the new entering customers(lot of customers came in standing clueless waiting for seats), and clearing the dishes on the table, as the staffs are busing preparing inside the bar, hopefully they can find a solution for that. I'm not sure if they provide reservation but recommended to make a call to ask about it. Their kitchen last call is at 845pm. They offers variety of pastas, toast, snacks, kids set and coffee to choose from. Their Donburi tastes really good, and Aglio Olio wasn't bad too. I had their Americano and personally I don't really like it as it tasted over extracted. Overall ambience and design of the cafe is good

Visited once when the cafe was at old address. Now the cafe has a new look, located in the Lake Garden area. This is my second visit with friends. we reached there about 730pm, the seats almost occupied, left one long coffee table. It wasn't a good option but we took it as there might be a long wait for a dining table. Recommend to come early at dinner time. The environment was cosy and relax. Our food was served in 30 mins time. we had Tuna Croissant, Garlic Fried Rice, Salted Egg Yolk Chicken Chop, Aglio e Olio with Bacon. All the food is delicious! Especially the chicken chop, juicy and tender. Fried rice with sambal sauce is perfect match. Aside from food, the drinks a little bit pricey. (fish&chip, mushroom soup&garlic bread and vanilla french rose tea all sold out…. I will come again) Photo 14/5/2022

A sadly disappointing experience. I don't like giving bad reviews but perhaps if enough people do (and they're getting quite a few recently) they might notice and if they actually care about more than making money things will change. It has such a lovely location just by the lake gardens and coffee is actually really good. Lots of the issues probably would be reasonably easy to fix with enough thought and effort. Anyway the pros such as they were really good coffee (surprisingly good given other elements of the experience), a lot of parking, building is quite stylish looking and of course excellent location right by Raintree Walk. They've recently moved to this location actually and no doubt it's probably a money spinner because of passing trade though they're currently ill equipped to deal with it I think. Staff shortages in part plus I expect high staff turnover also given the working environment. Service in terms of politeness wasn't too bad tbf - they did better than I would've done working in that environment on a hot, busy Saturday for 10+ hours. I doubt most of them were much above 20 years old - any deficiency in service I would blame on the owners not them frankly. Cons of which they were sadly quite a few. The environment is extremely hot partly because the building is inefficient in its construction, partly because there's no ceiling fans but mostly I think because they're using older bulbs which give out and enormous amount of heat - more than the ac can deal with. It was probably cheaper for them to use these bulbs rather than LED ones however long term the energy costs will be MUCH higher. Also none of their customers will return because they don't want to be slowly cooked alive in an already very hot country while waiting for their food. I urge them - beg them even to change these bulbs immediately for everyone's sake - imagine being a waitress or chef there and wearing a mask!! Service was very slow - took perhaps 30 minutes for two flat whites to arrive and about the same for a very average omelette. Went up after about 25 minutes to remind the counter staff and was like ordering again - seems to be some issue with communication between the front and back or possibly some other deeper training and/or technical issue. As far as I could tell there seemed to be no owner or manager about orchestrating things - almost like they were leaving their young staff just to face the problems while they enjoy the money being made - If true that's unforgivable. Hopefully that's not the case but certainly some more leadership wouldn't go amiss here as a minimum. Laughably my wife's nachos took 45 minutes and was just bagged nachos emptied on to a plate with a small pot of cheap cheese sauce and another small pot of chopped cucumber and onion (not salsa as the menu said)! I could've genuinely have made this in 45 seconds so how it takes a supposedly professional kitchen 45 minutes is beyond me. The food overall was mediocre but this is just plain bad - not only from a service perspective but because the end product is so poor and the customer feels cheated. I could be wrong and I hope I am but I think very much a case of profit being the most important thing by cutting expenses to a minimum. Not a pleasant experience for the customer who will rarely be fooled and will seriously harm repeat custom. This is probably quite important in Taiping as it's not somewhere low quality that can just rely on tourists mostly like the Old smokehouse in Cameron highlands does. I don't think just being by the lake gardens is good enough for this place to survive long term. The friends we were with had been to the old location and this whole experience left them feeling genuinely sad. The view might be better and the size bigger but it seems to have lost most of the good things it had in the process. It was an utterly charmless experience. With enough work it could be significantly improved I'm sure - I think somewhere here there's still a really good cafe - the location certainly deserves one.

Visited during weekday, non peak hours (tea time). Prime location in front of Taiping Lake Garden. Modern design cafe and the seating is arranged with good distance (not too packed). Ample of parking space. Food is delicious and the beverages are acceptable. A bit pricey for local but acceptable for tourists.

The coffee is good here. You'll know when you open the door and greeted by the coffee beans aroma. Food is also good. Price is steep. Service crew is disorganized. Food & drinks: 4 stars Service: 3 stars Cleanliness: 3 stars
