β β β β β I would say best fried oyster in Penang. I will come here every time I come back from outstation. With a reasonable price, uncle gives a lot of oysters and they are all very big size too. Super awesome food!

β β β β β The fried oysters here are over-rated, and maybe many who try here are not locals. This fried oysters here is too mushy with starch and fried with a too much oyster sauce for my liking. It doesn't have enough spice/ rempah inside the dish. But after all, different people will have different palates. Nonetheless, as a local, i tried this stall because my favourite hawker is not open (new hawker at Maga Restaurant, Perak Road).

β β β β β Not so good if you have tasted Fried Oysters at the Maga Kopitiam. You can taste a heavy MSG-laden oyster sauce without spice/ chilli. Feels like frying omelette and topping it with some oysters. Not good.

β β β β β This is Muslim friendly fried oyster stall that I lucky enough to stumbled on. And it's yummy especially if uncle doing the cooking. During mco because can only dabao, uncle packed his Fried Oyster with banana leaf as base to keep the fragrance. I really appreciate it β€οΈ

β β β β β What is the perfect oh chien?
Is it crispy with charred bits, oily and aromatic with pork lard, fried with the chef's own spicy and umami sauce?
Answer: yes.
This has none of that. I asked for extra chili expecting a spicy pungent oh chien. But I got extra chili sauce.
The only good thing is for Rm12 I got a generous portion of fresh big oysters.
Doesn't deserve the reputation it has.
