The version of patin tempoyak that cooked here is another version, where it is much more spicy and assam has added which make the gravy sauce much more spicy and sour. The portion of fish is much bigger than the famous bang go maju. The texture of fish of course no so good as the size of fish went big. But this depends on personal, as I am prefer the texture of fish more silky as it is. Overall it is a self-service stall which it also sold other variety of vege and meats.

One of the recommended restaurants if we want to try the patin masak tempoyak in Temerloh. With a reasonable price and variety of foods its our family choices if we get a chance to visit the town.

For those who likes the less spicy version of the Temerloh Patin Tempoyak together with a wide array of other Malay mixed rice dishes this is the place I would recommend to everyone over everywhere else in Temerloh at least. The overall quality and taste of all the dishes served are for me pretty amazing and consistent which perhaps contributes to the long queues every customer need to endure especially in peak hours. However for everything else it’s much to be desired. Pak Usop is a victim of its own success by trying to stay traditional and original but struggling to keep pace with increasingly high number of “virally” induced outstation customers who packs the place making it feels more like a cantina rather than a restaurant. For anyone who intends to go there for the first time be prepared to get in line for a queue, to wait for at least 15 minutes in case the Patin Tempoyak is out of stock as they only cook the dish in a single pot at a given time, to deal with busy and impolite staffs, to aimlessly walking around looking for an empty table or to stand like a prisoner or a refugee with a plate of rice on your right hand and a glass of drinks on your left standing behind other fellow customers waiting for them to finish simply to book for a right to be seated. Imagine yourself trying to enjoy your lunch with strangers standing behind your back eagerly waiting for you to finish your meal so that they can take your place. As a result the place somehow feels unwelcoming and disrespectful to its own customers. It feels like the place simply wants you to makan your meal as fast as you can and to get the hell out once you are done. When that happens even a tasty delicious meals can turn bland.

First, i have to admit i haven't had many tempoyak patin before. But this one is awesome. Shop open at 12 (according to the staff). We came on saturday, reach there around 1030. Start queuing on 1120, and the patin tempoyak not yet cooked! After ~50 min, finally we got the dishes. The patin itself is really, really good. Fish is fresh, not overcook, quite spicy. The portion also big. For me and family, absolutely worth it. After we finish our meal (15 min or so), the whole patin dishes sold out. So you guys better plan your trip to avoid disappointment. 5 star, recommended.

This place close on sunday due to weekend market. Come early. I came after 2 pm and had to wait for 45 mins for new batch of ikan patin tempoyak. Not worth it.

Well known for the ikan patin tempoyak and ikan patin goreng. The food was good/okay. I'm not a fan of tempoyak generally but this was palatable. I liked how it was spicy, tangy (reminds me of Indian rasam) and the tempoyak Sambal tasted strongly of durian. I would say it doesn't taste as fermented as it usually does. I think ? perhaps a tempoyak purist who wants a stronger fermented flavour may not like this as much. Service and parking was ok. Good selection of ulam. Location: head down to the river near the Petronas petrol station. The restaurant is located in a row of restaurants.
