★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A bad experience with the Hawk operator at the Kota Bharu airport has soured the experience of renting a car from Hawk for me.
The operator, who gave his name as Syed Ahmad and who claimed that he was the main operator who has been running this agency since the 1990s, kept twisting his words around when he quoted me rental rates. I made a number of phone calls to him to get the rates and to make a reservation for a car (as our flights were retimed) , and each time we spoke, he quoted me something different from what he quoted me previously. Then he demanded an extra charge just because I informed him that another person would be picking up the car instead of me. And he also said that the person who picks up the car must pay an additional 6% on top of the amount he had quoted me and we had agreed on.
Never in any of our conversations did he inform me that the amount he quoted me was not nett, and that there would be an additional 6% tax on top of it. When I asked him why did he not tell me this upfront, he arrogantly said that this is something everyone knows. I told him he should have also mentioned it, and not assume that everyone would know what he himself knows. At this point he accused me of accusing him to be a cheater and that he was not interested in doing business with people who would not take his word as gospel truth. He threatened to cancel my booking, and slammed the phone down on me. I refused to call him back because I was no longer interested in giving him any business or my money. So instead, I have made a complaint against him to the Hawk CEO.
I would like to point out to Syed Ahmad that in the service industry, 1) you do not go around accusing customers of not trusting you, 2) you do not slam phones down on customers, and 3) you do not threaten customers in any way. Shame on you, Syed Ahmad, you have really brought a bad name to Hawk Rent a Car. I will never go back to you for any car rentals and be assured, I will inform all my friends to do the same. I am posting this review here to warn others of you and your manipulative ways.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the workers who drove the registration plate WA 2214 V was driving recklessly. Almost got myself and family into an accident. Followed the car back and it came from this place. Go for other reliable operators. It's just not worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Called Hawk 5 min before the end of the day on a Sat 26/12/2020. Spoke to Rama and told him I urgently need a car on Monday for a 1 way trip from Pg to KL. Rama asked me to whatsapp my details so he could ask his colleague to reserve a car for me. To cut the long story short, got my car just as promised. service was excellent, car in good condition, price reasonable. Prakash and Rama, tx for all your help. Hvg a real person to talk to beats an app anytime.
