So I started to explore the cafe culture in Kuantan, and to my surprise there were quite a few of good cafes scattered around town. Java Flava is one of them.. I used to pass by this area when I lived in Tunas Jaya near Semambu area, on my way downtown.
The cafe layout was long and service might take slightly longer but the wait was worth it.
◾Tiramisu - the cafe’s take on this classic Italian dessert paid off handsomely. This was their bestselling dessert.. if you’re looking for authentic tiramisu then it’s time to look away. Minus the alcohol, it resembles an ice cream but with all the flavours. Most of the time, one was never enough! Even the young ones fought with us.
◾deep fried calamari salad - rare case when we just wanted to grab quick meal before going elsewhere, it did the job to fill the tummy. Crispy battered calamari on top of a bed of salad with delicious dressing.
◾bangers & mash - not sure how it tasted but looking at how fast the kids polished the plate, I guess that it must be good.
◾coffee - no coffee art but expect good coffee to satisfy the caffeine addiction in you.
For me, it’s always the tiramisu that got me coming back everytime. It just sync with my taste bud.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When I walked in the King of rock n roll Elvis was here. It was no longer Elvis has left the building rather then Elvis has just walked in the building. I’m a great fan of the star himself and that alone made my day better ever. The turkey ham sandwich was a little too sweet yet great to eat but I couldn’t say the same for the Magnum waffles which I expected it to be chocolaty sweet ..however I will still recommend it for those who are health conscious taking care of their sugar level cause this is the waffle you could option to still be on the game. The latte could be improved in terms of making it hot even with using cold milk. My honesty!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered roasted almond latte & creme brulee. Roasted almond taste good. But the cup was small. Tak puas nak lepak lama. Creme brulee taste good. Must try. Soft inside, crispy outside. Not too sweet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The experience is quite good, the service is excelent. Their desserts are good but do ask about the fresh choice of the day. Waffles are freshly made and that package include a lot enough for 2 persons.
Overall excellent place to spend time

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite an interesting cafe. Friendly staff. Bit pricey though. Lots of seating. Nice retro decor.
We tried quite a bit. Nachos, several pastas & big breakfast. Notable ones being the pesto chicken & turkey ham carbonara. They were all pretty good. Huge portions. Wanted to have dessert but was too stuffed. Their drinks are good too especially the matcha latte & iced dark mocha.
Overall we had a good lunch. Definitely worth a try when in Kuantan.
