★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Taking a Seberang Takir boat is not like taking a ferry. The boat is a bit narrow. Passengers can only sit in built in seats or stand. Passengers will crowd each other if the space is full. The temperature in the boat is quite hot coming out from the boat engine. The smell of diesel smoke is a bit strong. So if you can't stand heat and are allergic to the smell of diesel you will probably feel dizzy.
Another thing is the risk of boarding this boat is to be shouldered by yourself. This is because these boats do not provide safety jackets. I saw there were only two buoys on the boat sides. If the boat sinks, the passengers have to save themselves.
Despite the risks, many passengers still took their family on this boat. It's nothing to them, it has not been recorded in the history of this boat having been sinking as long as it has been operating for more than 50 years. This is because of its low and flat design therefore not to be easily overturned or sinking despite fast and choppy river currents. If the boat's engine quits in the middle of the river, that’s not a problem because a lot of other boats can tow it all the way back to the jetty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ this is the way to experience how local moving around back in 20-30 years ago. Must a do activity if you love to experience local culture. Ticket is so cheap, between RM 2-4 per trip. You can either take bot from Seberang Takir Jetty or Pasar Payang Jetty. they are also offer a private tour along the river to see some Kuala Terengganu top attraction. It will only cost you around RM 60 for fixed route and RM90 for custom route. A discussion with the operator is need before the ride. To book the private tour, it is only possible at Seberang Takir Jetty
