Just can't taste the crab due to no booking advance.

Loved the Crab and steamed fish, enough English spoken so if you are looking for a break from the Georgetown scene head west you won't be disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For the distance to travel from Georgetown, I must say the seafood was disappointing. The fish and prawns weren't fresh, despite being a fishing village. Perhaps the fishery was closed for the day ? The clams were OK, not great. There were certain fresh seafood we saw in the kitchen but was told they were not for sale ? What ? The best dish was the eggplant, which was very fresh and delicious.
There are better and fresher seafood in Penang for sure.

You could buy the seafood from nearby stalls and they would happily cook it for you (with a fee of course, by weight of the seafood).
Prices have increased but it is expected since everything else has also gone up.
The spicy sour steamed fish has just the right balance of salty, sour, spicy and sweet.
It’s a bit of a drive in but well worth it if you are looking for good food with a change of scenery. Dining by a river swamp, expect to be greeted by some swimming monitor lizards who are likely used to human presence.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fresh seafood on plates, tasty gravy on several ways of cooking. Semi outdoor, efficient and friendly service, check on they recommended dishes. Open kitchen, quick serving, flavour in any food served. Try fresh Ampla juice, very refreshing. Fish market near by and get your fresh seafood from catch of the day. A restaurant with nice view of fishermen village. Come early before lunch time due to limited seating area. Very Recommended and worth for long journey to Pulau Betong in Balik Pulau.
