★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's my first time here. When I arrived at the place, it was as I expected- a low-key coffee shop at the roadside. First of all the ambience was the one that we could experience at a village. The shop could use a bit of redecoration to make it cheerful and inviting.
We ordered two sets of roti canai telur, roti cotek, roti canai sardine, tomyam noodles and tomyam noodles with nuggets of eel. To our delight, the orders were fulfilled about 15 to 20 minutes later.
Regarding the taste, roti canai sardine won my heart. The mixture of sardine and egg did not overpower one another and the taste was highlighted even more by the smack of spiciness that came from the chopped chilli. It is the best one I've ever had. Roti canai telur was flakey on the outside but the inside was fluffy. Roti cotek was quite good too. However the gravy was not as we wanted it to be. We requested the curry to be mixed with sambal but the sambal overpowered the whole taste of the gravy. Therefore, we could not taste the curry.
We also liked the tom yum noodles. The texture of noodles, the cuts of vegetables, the nuggets of meat were all according to what we preferred it to be. However, the gravy was sweet and it was not suitable for this kind of food. Sweet was supposed to be for dessert. If it had tasted less sweet, the sour and saltiness of the gravy would have been appreciated better.
The waiter that took our order was also friendly and polite. It made the whole dining experience even better.
Overall, it was a nice dinner and I will definitely buy the roti canai sardine again.
