My late dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer and as the cancer cells had spread to his other organs, the surgeon could not remove the tumors. We were informed that his condition was terminal and had only about 6 months to live. The surgeon advised us to seek pallative care assistance from Hospice. We were referred to Kasih Hospice by one of our friends who had earlier sought their service for the care of their late grandmother. My late dad was attended by Nurse Cheah, Nurse Izza and Dr Vanitha. They made regular visitations and patiently spoken to him on each visit. That really brightened up my dad. Medications and supplements were provided to help managed his pain and also made him felt good and comfortable. They were very responsive to all our enquiries and also made arrangements with Hospital Selayang Pallative Care Unit for my dad's admission when his stomach was bloated and had difficulty in his digestion and movements (partially bedridden). Kasih Hospice also loaned us medical equipments ie: oxygen cylinder and mask in the event of breathing difficulty. My dad encountered breathing difficulties twice before he passed away. Kasih Hospice services, medications and equipments are all provided without charges. However, donations in kind or cash can be made to the centre. My late dad and our family truly value the excellent services and support rendered by the team at Kasih Hospice. Our appreciation and special thanks to Dr Vanitha, Nurse Izza and Nurse Cheah (retired) for their dedication and hardwork in carrying out their duties.
