Steamed fish with generous servings of fried garlic is really good. BKT has strong herbal flavors.

Soup is very strong herbal taste and has lots of MSG used. Few pieces of pork bone meat and liver, bean curd sheet and tau pok. Asked for no intestines. Paid RM15 for this bowl. Very warm, no aircon and messy service. Not for the faint hearted.

Popular local bak kut teh shop that also serves up a fantastic steamed fish with a tasteful gravy. Average price of a fish is about RM50 and bak kut teh goes at RM15 per pax portion (very generous). Garlic lovers rejoice, for its freeflow here. The herbal tea served here is tasty and value for money, so get this instead of a canned drink.

Food is delicious. Fish is very fresh and reasonably priced (golden snapper 3.90/50g). Bak kut teh has a herbal taste. Can top up soup. Really hot inside because of the low ceiling, even with multiple fan, the heat couldnt dissipate, so do wear light attire and order ice cool tea. Worth visiting for the food and price.

Place: open air, with ample seats. Very humid and hot place for me (welcome to Malaysia). Service: good. Efficient. Satisfactory. Food: 1) Bak Kut Teh: the broth is on the sweet side due to the herbs put in. Very rich herbal flavour. Not too generous with ingredients. Verdict: if u like sweet, and rich herbal flavour, the yes. 2) Steamed grouper (RM57): also on the sweet side and meat was smooth, fish was fresh. No complaints here. Verdict: recommended.

Came across this as the place you wouldn't know if you didn't go with the locals. Super grateful for the tip! There's no q system, you have to find your own ways to get a table and order your food thereafter. Can be initimading if you're not used to this & don't speak any of the local languages. The bak kut teh soup is absolutely beautiful! The herbs are on the milder side (which we like) & there's gorgeous sweet after taste. We ordered mix of meat, including lean meat & spare parts. These compliment the small cut pork ribs really well. We also enjoyed the tau kee soaked in the soup, so much that we ordered a second serving of it, which they delivered with a fresh bowl of soup! Saw that all tables ordered fish, and the 1st question the uncle asked was which fish? So eating fish we did, and it was so much nicer than most steam fish. The black soya sauce was so rich, savoury, and the fried garlic balances it out with nice aroma to the fish. The minced meat dressing on the veggie was awesome, a great companion to the crispiness and slightly bitter veggie. I can imagine coming back just for this. The kids loved the tofu & minced meat, but the adults were too focused on other food. The only setback is the parking area in front of the place gets muddy (as it rained during our visit), and the toilet is a squatting kind (though relatively clean & we've seen worse). Won't keep us from coming back certainly.

Popped by for a simple 2 dishes meal and both the Bah Ku Teh and Steamed Fish are very good and portions are generous. We like that their Bah Ku Teh default have various stuff inside like intestines, Dou Ki and we love the Fried Garlic on their fish and is very fresh. Both these dishes is a must order. The only complaint is the place can be quite hot and humid. Nice comfort food.

Love this hidden gem! The fish is super fresh and is a must order. They have different types of fishes for you to choose from, just remember to ask then how much will it cost. Very good herbal tea soup too and super huge portion! This will definitely be one of my main eats when I'm in jb. Tip: do go to the one with the blue signboard and not the one at the corner.
