Old school feel. QQ noodle and thinly sliced roasted char siew. Shop is discreet (almost hidden) and next to the Red (Marrybrown) historical building. Will visit again. Parking space always an issue in downtown JB.

Very nice wanton mee especially the wanton. We ordered the medium size wtm and it came with 4 wantons. Charsiew very lean so that's what's missing the 5th star. Total with the drink is Rm10.40, on the high side but with so many Singaporeans there, it's "cheap". Parking is hard but there are plenty of illegally parked cars if you can't find any legal spots.

Great wonton mee here. Must try the black one. The noodle was al dente and the wonton was really flavourful. They even gave 4 wontons! Amazing! I was so hungry I took a few bites before taking a photo ?

This might be the best wonton noodles in downtown area. Wontons are big and full of fillings, and it's really delicious when paired with the noodles. Of course, just like the traditional wonton noodles, you can either choose dry noodles with a small bowl of soup or wonton noodles soup depends on your own favourite. The price is quite cheap enough If we count it by based on the downtown price as the standard.

Wanton noodle shop with extremely springy and bouncy fish ball texture was the first thought that comes to my mind when eating at Xuu Yau. This humble stall is hidden at the corner end of a junction, right after you walk past multiple overrated famous kopitiam/ cafes that is selling food and drinks at an exorbitant price. The noodles here were well flavored and comes with three sauce flavor (white:lard, black:dark soy sauce with lard, red: lard with chilli). I love the noodles cooked here as it was cooked to a perfect timing that gives you a nice bite to it. Like almost al dente. The fish balls made here are actually the main stars of this shop I’d say. You can tell it’s freshness and homemade taste when the texture is springy, bouncy (often times rough sphere shape; a sign of handmade fish balls) and a nice fish meat taste. The meat inside the wanton were also pretty generous. Our bill came up to be about RM10 per pax which were superb for that touristy area. Xuu Yau was indeed a hidden gem among that famous stretch of street. The queue wasn’t as long as other shops like Kin Hua/Hua Mui. You can say it could be the next big thing, waiting for it’s big break when everyone gets to try its food.

The WTM noodles too soft to my liking, wld prefer it to be more springy. There’s pork lard but missing the sesame oil. The wan tan is really one of the best that I hv had in many WTM stalls. The fish balls pretty good too.

Local wantan mee stall. Located in Chinatown in close to many kopitiams. Not crowded but can see its popular as diners keep coming in & many also come to buy take away. Parking in this area is always a hassle. Place is generally clean & cosy. No toilets within the shop though so take note not to order too many drinks. We ordered the popular white wantan mee with chili oil which is supposed to be a local favorite as we see many tables ordered the same. Comes with few slices of pork char siew and a small bowl of wantan soup. Small serving cost us Rm7.50 and portion is small. Taste is ok but I preferred it with less chili oil. The homemade noodles was the star I feel as the texture was springly.

They have three types of wantanmee : white, red and black. I think white and black are nicer than red and the three flavours are good. The fish balls are very chewy and bouncy so are recommended to try. For the wantan it has generous amount of meat so it's good. Worth a try if you want to try some local food.
