ONE STAR CAR RENTAL AGENCY. When we arrived at 10am for the collection of the car, we only got the car at 3pm, which was 5 hours late — note that they also told us that it would take 3 hours for the car to arrive from Mersing (it takes 2 hours from Mersing). After waiting an eternity, the driver told us that the delay was because he woke up late. This already left a bad impression on us, but we still proceeded. After inspecting the car, it was really dirty and not really well maintained. The windshield were stained, there were rubbish under the seats and the car pockets had empty bottles of water. They also did a quick wash of the exterior which is really pointless. There were also papers in the glove boxes. WE HAD TO CLEAN ALL THIS OUT OURSELVES. Moving forward, after a few days of using the car, driving back to Malacca from Penang we noticed that there was an issue with our windsheild as it couldn't be winded down. Thankfully we were near the r&r and drove in to park the car. After using the restroom we COULD NOT START THE CAR. We called for the mechanic and he told us that the Alternator died. The mechanic tried to jump start the battery but that wasn't the case, and note the battery in the car wasn't even new. The Agency told us to shake the battery cable to start the car and there was even cow feces/poop in the hood of the car — they weren't even apologetic during the conversation with them and they gave us the impression that this was not a huge issue. If an alternator dies, we could lose control of the steering and other functions of the car. We could've gotten into an accident just FYI. It was 9pm and we were really exhausted and our car broke down and we had a baby travelling with us, we are supposed to check into our hotel at 10pm. After talking to the agency they told us that they would send someone down with a replacement car immediately and told us that they were leaving soon from johor. After 2-3 hours of waiting we decided to call again and they told us that they were JUST LEAVING. We received the car at 3am in the morning. The driver was unapologetic again, and just gave a couldn't give a damn expression. Our trip ended 2 days after this incident with the new replacement car. Returning the car was just simply addressed as an okay, again service is poor. Overall, service is poor. Staff isn't educated with any mannerisms or courtesy. We hope there would be improvements in this area for others but we will definitely not be hiring from this agency again.
