★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You can choose tracks to your liking. If yku feel adventurous and quite fit yourself, choose the off-road tracks. If you just want to hike casually, take the paved road. The summit view is nothing to gawked upon though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came to this alternate Trailhead with our local friends and they took us up the mountain as opposed to walking on the paved path. Trails are well-maintained at an intermediate level. Trails are not particularly well marked so going with local friends is recommended although to them it is second nature. It does not take long along this path to get up the hill through some beautiful scenic points where you can take panoramic photos of the all of Ipoh. As a bonus, the fruit stand the base of the hill in the parking lot offers a lot of fresh fruit and their mango and pineapple were top rate!

I'd prefer the off-roads.
But either way, a great way to spend your weekend hiking up.
I would normally walk up on the paved road in the afternoons after work.
Don't worry, you'll meet lots of nice people on the way.
