While the environment was great, the same can’t be said on the food.

One of the restaurants of st Regis. The place for breakfasts Everything is here, in big buffets no limit, all you can eat. Even the morning bloody Mary at the entrance. Can't ask for more... Also the "night market" dinner buffet on the terrace on monday ended up in stormy rain at dessert time.

OPULENT BUILDING BUT SURPRISINGLY ORDINARY FOOD L'Orangerie is located on the lobby level at the five star St Regis Hotel. The building and the surrounding grounds are delightful, however the restaurant (we went for dinner) is a bit disappointing as it has a rather limited menu and a somewhat vague French- Asian fusion focus. We had heard that the bloody mary's were good .. and we were not disappointed! The food however was fairly pricey and plain for the quality served. The beef rendang was served as coconut rice and one large piece of beef cheek. The cheek was not tender and being served as one large piece is a bit unusual for this local dish. There was no (chili) heat in the dish which is probably deliberate for the predominantly Western customers. The laksa was also a bit "fusion" - my Malaysian dining companion described it as "OK". The watermelon salad entree was quite interesting with some delightful fruit and vinegar flavours in the dressings. Service was efficient and fairly formal. People with mobility issues will have no problem as the restaurant is on the ground floor and there are no steps to negotiate. If you are staying at the adjacent Westin Resort, ask the helpful concierge staff to send you home in a buggy :)

They have a similar menu throughout the hotel, so it is really up to you what sort of mood you like to have dinner with, this place is a rather elegant design. If you want a proper bar for a few drinks, this is the part you should visit in the hotel.

The bubbly breakfast is a must experience when you are in St Regis Langkawi. The spread was of very high quality and the must try is the steak and omelette and river prawn omelette. If you want to get a bit tipsy by 11am this is the place to go. We also had lunch in this restaurant by ordering catch of the day and some shrimp roll. They were decent. All in all no complaints - worth a try.

Stayed at the hotel and had their included breakfast buffet every morning. They had a balance of eastern and western choices, although they may have optimised for quantity of options and lost out on quality. Nothing really stood out. I like that they have unlimited champagne and bloody Marys (with grey goose) every morning.

Had breakfast during my stay here. Honestly, the breakfast at St. Regis is over the top! Make sure you try their signature Lobster Omelette, Steak and Eggs, and Egg Benedict. The mushroom quiche is also a must have! The nasi lemak station looks very local with their own "akak nasi lemak" serving you the delicious local rice dish. They also have a few choices of freshly brewed tea and coffee. This restaurant also serves a good variety of ice cream for breakfast. Not to forget, they also serve sparkling wine and their signature Lang Mary cocktail for breakfast. If you're not a hotel guest, the breakfast will cost you RM 170; pricey, but the quality will not disappoint you. PS: Don't try the egg nouvelles. They only look good in pictures.
