โ โ โ โ โ Took the wife to this restaurant on the way back from a meeting in Bertam. It was a drive to this little village. We both ordered โlaksa campurโ (mixed laksa) because this is something that is unique with this restaurant and what other reviewers raving about. We never had laksa campur before so have no ideas what to expect.
When our arrived, we found the laksa is actually a traditional laksa mixed (fusion laksa) with some kind of sambal sotong (squid) and cucur udang (prawn fritter) - so we though it must be great - just like Hameed Pata Mee Sotong where they add sambal sotong to their fried noodles. It would be a goodness of a traditional laksa with the scrumptious crispy cucur udang and the tasty sambal sotong. Nothing could be wrong.
Unfortunately when we tasted it, they (laksa + cucur udang + sambal sotong) didnโt really go well together and the sambal sotong tasted really fishy. So,โI couldnโt finish my laksa. Just not to my liking. It is simply not like Laksa Kuala Perlis where some of the patrons mixed the laksa with pulut udang and it tastes great!
I think I will stick with traditional Laksa Janggus in Balik Pulau.
p/s There are ample parking space around the restaurant.
