Lim Dental Surgery

First time visit and was assigned to Dr Edmund, professional and patience doctor. He explained the procedure before the start of treatment. Need to make appointment if you plan to visit during sat.

Visited Dr Ronald Lim for root canal treatment on dec 2015. I need to do RCT for froont teeth x2 due to chronic inflammation. Each tooth rm 750 and other fees like x-ray and LA injection are included. I would say that Dr Lim is skillful in performing RCT and he took only one hr to do both teeth. RCT will need 2 visit. Hence,my first visit include clearing the inflamed tissue inside and temporary filling has been put. Pain still bearable and I would rate 1/10 for pain score.

I read over the net that they have this particular dental treatment called palate expander at their clininc. Then I called to double confirm but the nurse was not sure so I asked to speak to the Dr. Lim(owner). He told me yes they have the treatment. So I say cool and visited the clinic with my two sons. We were attended to by a locum Doctor(GP), who agreed that my sons should go for that treatment and its available at their clinic but she cant do the treatment now because its another specialist(doctor Yang) who only comes once a month who will administer the treatment. Then she starts cleaning my sons teeth without me asking for it and I was asked to wait outside while they arrange for the appointment with Dr. Yang's next available date. Half hour later I was asked to pay 180(RM) and was told that they dont do that treatment anymore. The fact they told me they have the treatment that and confirmed it multiple times was the sole reason I went to the clinic and later they charge me for something that I didnt even ask for. I felt cheated and played out. I complained and told them they are running a con job, paid the bloody 180(RM) and walked away.

Look for Dr Lye. Speaks well, patient and very detailed and skillful. Whole process of root canal and crowning was done painlessly and price is definitely cheaper way more than Singapore. Highly recommended!

Dr Edmund Ooi was so patient and took the time to let us know the different treatments available and their pros and cons. He planned the procedure well and explained everything that he was going to do. Price was reasonable too.

I visited the dental for root-canal treatment and crown and was assigned to Dr Edmund Ooi. He is patience, professional and attentive to my needs. He will explain the procedures before the start of treatment. However, I am not satisfied with the service rendered by the receptionist. My appt is at 12pm and I called the dental that I will late about 30mins due to the jam at custom. The receptionist replied me "I heard from my colleagues that why you always late? And yr treatment takes an hr to complete" I checked with her whether is there any slots in the afternoon. She answered nope and told me to try my best to rush over. [At that moment, I am still okay. Btw their lunch time is at 1pm so it may affected their lunch time.] At 12.20pm, I reached the clinic and I proceed to the reception counter and apologised for being late. The 2 unfriendly receptionist show me their charcoal face straight away. Luckily, Dr Edmund is nice as he told me no worries when I apologised. He even told me that "the temporary crown is easy to take out so the treatment won't be long". About 25 mins (12.45pm) later, my treatment is done and I finally relieved as I didn't cause any delay for their lunch. Before I leave the dental, I sincerely apologised to them for the lateness. All are okay at the end. Except one chinese receptionist still show me chacoal face. In conclusion, I am unhappy with the receptionist's service! I admitted that I am wrong of being late but this is not a behavior that she should give to patients especially in service line. This only show that she is unprofessional. I really felt accused when she said "I am always late!". I have been visited 5 times for both treatment and I usually came earlier. Maybe there are 2 times including this incident of being late due to custom jam. But I always try my best to be there asap and i late for less than 30mins for each time. Also, how does the receptionist know I am the person which her colleagues talk about? There are countless of patients come in and out. I really found that it is so ridiculous!! On a side note, I will still recommend this dental as Dr Edmund is a professional dentist and so far my tooth doesn't give me any problems.

For those who are interested, an appointment is a must. All the dentists are trained from top tier universities and one of the few in JB with experience and know what they are doing. Compared to SG, they are definitely worth a trip because the price is unbeatable. But for those looking for a great ambience and conducive environment, this place is not as it is showing its age. I have read some reviews about it prior to making the appointment complaining about the cleanliness of the rinsing sink. Well for the pricing and what they offer one can't really complain. Its like the price of xiaomi compared to the bling of samsung. Everybit as capable but not perfect. Will be looking to primarily use them as my regular dentist. And I have the other dentist (Not Dr Lim).

First time visited for wisdom tooth extraction and was assigned to Dr. Edmund. He is professional and explain well the whole procedure before the start of treatment. Even though the surgery took a bit longer than expected time but luckily it was a painless experience. Price is reasonable as compared to other clinics.
