Although surrounded by a pedestrian and uninteresting view clearly seen through the casement windows encircling the dining area, the taste and smells of our breakfast brought me back to being in an M&S or Debenhams cafe in the UK. Feeling rather ravenous, we opted for two Mansion 28 Big Breakfast and one Smoked Duck Affair. The Big Breakfast, a perfectly cooked omelette with just the right amount of runniness, a pair of medium-sized sausages, two slices of chicken ham, a slice of bread, and decently dressed salad surely hit the right spot to start the day! As for the other dish, nestled delicately on slices of smoked duck and sliced croissant, the two poached eggs definitely had me wanting more! The hazelnut latte, however, was a bit underwhelming. It was good, but seemed to be missing something. The kids, however, did enjoy the hot chocolate. We went for the tiramisu which was not only pleasing to the eye but also satisfied our taste buds. Will be trying other cakes on our next visit. Unlike chain cafes, this establishment is definitely a welcome change. Dining area is roomy and bright, simple yet welcoming. Location-wise, definitely a plus. Being located outside of the heart of Alor Setar and away from foot traffic, it is definitely the place to have a delectable, relaxing English breakfast. Definitely a hidden gem in Alor Setar!

Overall lovely experience here. Locatiom is good, easy to park. Nice heritage building that has been touched up but still has it preserved sense. Calm and chill. Food and drinks are affordable, tastes good and esthetic too! Friendly and helpful staffs ??

2nd time here. I really do like food here though it's pricey for Alor Star standards. Their croissants are the best. Improvements to be considered: 1. update customers if something on the menu or part of the dish is not available. 2. Resolve the ants issue. It's crawling everywhere sadly. 3. Perhaps consider suitable music for your very beautiful cafe. Jazzy/lounge/bossanova would it be better and more comfortable and pleasant to the ears. Good luck!

It’s closer to a western modern type cuisine that is pretty appropriate with the pricing. The menu isn’t large but has enough options and choices for a group or family. They do also bake their own cakes and dessert, which does have some unique flavors. The only think I wish could be better is the burnt bitter coffee, and maybe a more attentive staff :) Other than that, a great addition to the Alor Setar cafe scene! ☺️

This café is my first stop when I arrived in Alor Setar by train during the recent CNY period as it is located just a stone throw away from the station. I can say the food here is top notch as equivalent to the KL standards. The same goes to the cakes and coffee, as they are really delicious and of high quality. Price wise is on the higher side for Alor Setar standards and nothing to complain as they are one of the top hipster café in town after Diem etc as they were frequented by Kedah royalties, VVIPs and influential personalities. The menu is simple with very limited choice which I believe the establishment is trying to focus on what they do best and keeping the overheads low. Portion wise they are considered generous IMHO with decent drinks selection consist of some funky stuff that you can explore i.e matcha + asam boi (chacamboi), matcha + coconut milk + blueberry (non symphony). Service aspects can be improved as it can be quite a wait during festive periods. I would definitely put a 5 star if you address the parking woes as it can be extremely difficult to get parking especially on the festive/peak period. For the management, just keep it up with the standards and kudos for maintaining the quality.

Top notch service by the staffs, very helpful and attentive. Foods and drinks are really good. The fizzy cooler drink was quite refreshing for the weather. The biscoff coffee cake was really yummy and creamy. The interior is very nice, plenty of space and doesn’t feel crowded, not overloaded with decorations. You can still feel the oldieness of the building. Plenty of parking available.

A great cup of coffee always provide perfect accompaniment to your cake. They baked very good Tiramisu. Although we were there after 2pm, the place was still full house, very crowded. So obviously not a right place to sit back and relax. Friendly service. Waiting time a little but not long. Plenty of parking by the side.

The place has a nice quiet environment and has great food for solo and family dining. Plenty of parking space next to the restaurant and the food is served very fast after ordering. They would serve up desserts like cakes and drinks first to prevent hunger.
