A place of worship that extends into the Straits of Malacca. There are a few photo spots outside. There is sufficient parking and the road on the way to the Mosque has some abandoned construction projects.

The Melaka Straits Mosque is a very awe-inspiring place of worship located within the sleeping area of Melaka Island. I was a bit surprised to find that the mosque opens at 10:00 AM and non-praying/non-muslim tourists are not allowed into the prayer hall. The mosque boasts some very attractive views of the strait from all its three balconies. I suggest you come in the morning to enjoy the mosque when its empty. I found it to be well-maintained and pristine both inside and out. However, the mosque is highly inaccessible by public transport or by foot. Its located in a pretty secluded area and you would need to get here by car. Its also closed on certain festive occasions like during Raya or Friday Prayers (unless you’re coming there to pray). There’s not much to see for the traditional tourists, but praying muslims will enjoy a tranquil moment of silence just being in the prayer hall which seemed like the very highlight of my visit. I would recommend exploring the pier along the straits of the shoreline as it seems to boast better views of the mosque from afar (I missed this!). Might also be good to plan a visit at noon for the sunset but might be a bit more crowded. Just don’t forget to explore not just the mosque but also the surrounding compounds as well!

Not as grand as other mosques but very beautiful and serene, especially as it is next to the sea. Visitors should respect the dress code, as in any mosque.

Nice scenery during sunset. It can be quite deserted at times, as not much surrounding activities with abandoned buildings surrounding the mosque.

Beautiful! The view of the Malacca Strait is nearly 180 degrees. Simply take a 10-minute drive from Central Melacca (start at 5:30) and wait for the mosque to light up. *PARK INSIDE THE MOSQUE!*

I suppose non Muslim can pay a visit. When u drive in there is a mini market where u can buy ice cream there. The mosque is nice, the sea also very clean, but u can’t fish here. There is a dressing code here too, just don’t too short or too expose since anyhow is a place for pray, should pay some respect

Very beautiful mosque. Very calm and love the windy feel at the balcony. Please wear proper attire to respect the prayer place. I think also not proper to bring food even you can watch sunset here because this is mosque and we want this place to be clean for muslim to pray and the tourist.
