Been to Nam Heong in One Utama. Thought the OG might be even better. But quite disappointed. It's a small kopitiam at the corner with only about 5 tables. So we need to queue for awhile. Pretty chilly inside even with a running commercial 2 deck oven. We ordered the tarts, egg pudding, and the white coffee. Egg tarts are top notch as always. However, the white coffee seems lacking the roasted taste and aroma. Would strongly recommend only take-away the egg tarts.

It has been a while since we last visited. Love the white coffee here, the aroma is superb and probably the best in Ipoh. The egg tart is delicious too but expensive. Anyone want to start your business? Start with selling egg tarts probably you will make million on this business. Bon Appetite.

Char Koay Teow is average only. But the white coffee is really nice, especially the hot one, while the cold one is only average. Queue time is more than half hours before manage to get into the coffee shop for breakfast.

The place is crowded with tourists. We waited a long time before get seated but it was worth it until you tried the kopi and egg tart. It's amazing. The toast is great and crispy too.

Just because of the cravings for white coffee and dry curry noodle A trip to Ipoh is not complete without drinking Ipoh white coffee at one of the famous restaurants in old town of Ipoh. What supposed to be 2-3 minutes drive from Corcubine Lane escalated to 15 minutes, and that had not taken into consideration time to wrestle for available parking spots which are so scarce here. After you park the car, then it's time to jostle & hustle for tables and chairs with all the aunties, uncles, yi ma, gu zhe, Sam suk gong, etc etc... We couldn't get any table at Nam Heong but lucky for us, the kopitiam directly opposite allows you to order food from Nam Heong to be brought over.. provided that you order drinks from them. ◾curry noodle - ticked my check list to eat Ipoh style curry mee. Served on a plate, each plate came with char siew, prawns and Ipoh hor fun doused with the aromatic curry broth before garnished with scallions. Squeezed the lime and it's good to go. ◾traditional Chinese sponge cake - an old school cake that brought me back to my childhood days when everything was simple. ◾char kuey teow - similar to Penang style due to the lighter colour with reasonable wok hei but missing that quintessential cockles. ◾Yong taufu ingredients ◾Ipoh white coffee and teh si - I'd go for these drinks anytime I'm here in Ipoh. It was time to head back to KL after that.

Short wait for a table to be available. Several fresh "dim sum" treats available. Beverages took a little wait to arrive after ordering. When our order arrived, half of the order was missed and had to re-order. Fried kway teow (egg only) didn't have good flavors. Curry mee was good. Teh ice had the right flavors from the Lipton tea base. Also loved the 'tariked' bubbles on top. Cham had more tea taste. Not sure if it's supposed to taste more of coffee or tea.

The egg tarts were quite good and yummy. The toast was so-so, couldn’t taste the kaya. Drinks were quite good though, the white coffee and the milk tea was really nice. To enter the shop, there is always a queue and crowd waiting to take their turn, this causes a long waiting time. The place is quite small, and with limited tables, gets crowded and noisy. Overall, come here for the tourist experience of visiting a famous place in Ipoh.

One of my best spot for egg tart (tan tart) in ipoh. What i like about their egg tart is the egg custard has buttery taste to it, however the texture is a bit inconsistent sometimes. Nam Heong also offer some hawker stall and they just extended more seatings area at the back of their store. Try their curry mee!
