Tua Pek Kong a classical Chinese deity is considered by many a popular deity in the spiritual realm by local folks, infect it's found almost everywhere. Most taoist places of worship will have this deity among other noble worshipped beings.
This monumental place of worship existed before the Japanese occupation in Malaya and was rebuilt to it's present structure in the 90s. This self funded shrine depends solely on public donations for it's upkeep. Annually a dinner will be held by the committee members to commemorate the birthday of this deity in the third month of the Chinese lunar calendar.
The popularity of Tua Peak Kong is tied with wealth, good luck and 4d gaming hence Pek Kong in short also dwell in Chinese cemeteries as Tu Di Kong or Earth god looking after the burial ground.
Nan Shan's Tua Pek Kong is worshipped as the house deity, seated overlooking west bound. This place is being looked after by volunteers. Overall it's well kept and cleanliness is satisfactory.
Nothing spectacular to mention except for hikers to take a breather while tackling the challenging climb. A very plain and simple structure with very common outlooks.
