★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have patronized “Pak Fong” quite a number of times since they began, and that one menu item that stands out among all has to be the Curry Noodles. For every heartwarming bowl of curry noodle, there is the “Kuah” (soup base) which forms the heart of the dish, and my Goodness…have they either perfected it or inherited from their grandma, it deserves admiration by peers who also serve this noodles dish within the 10km radius. First bite and one will savour the flavorful and fragrant broth, followed by non-lingering heat. Very importantly, the broth does not cause an MSG overdose syndrome (that tongue tingling sensation when something is cooked with too much MSG). Not to be confused with the Penang and Johor Laksa’s, Pak Fong’s own interpretation will find a common ground for those who prefer Southern Thai and KL Style heat and spice.
I have written this article because Pak Fong because foot traffic is slow during lunch hours in the new neighbourhood of Rimbayu, and I believe F&B establishment that serves foods that are made from scratch deserve our support especially under such uncertain times.
