★ ★ ★ ★ ★ before MCO this place was full of people eating and buying kitchen items. although now MCOs control movement and business, but business still survives although not as lively as before. wet markets are still trading with social spacing controls.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I usually come here for foods not for the wet market. Lol. The food court is nice, and has plenty of food choices to enjoy. My favourite is Lontong from Warung Ayu. Both lontong basah and kering really satisfied my tastebud. Roti Canai Din is also nice with its delicious kuah and sambal. Same goes to Nasi Lemak Kukus from the satay stall, very creamy and its side dishes are awesome.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Many of the shops are closed at6 pm. We ate asma rojak, at Warisan pak Atan sate. Quite nice. We also ate tahu bakar from the next stall, although its quite nice, but tahu was a bit too dry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pasar Kg Melayu is the oldest market in Johor Bahru. It's been here in Kg Melayu Majidee since the 70s. I have seen it evolves from my earliest days . I saw it from just a few stalls selling fish , fruits, vegetables, fresh meat ( cheap that time), and one barber shop where all the folks in Kg Melayu used to have the hair cut/trimmed. (That the nearest place for people with no transport the other will be 10 km which is the town of Johor Bahru).
The present market is the 4th renovation ever since I been there. Before it was 2 separate section/ building, the wet market was on the left and dry market on the right a few sundries shop , 2 barber outlet, 2 tailor shop, 3 outlet selling breakfast/roti canai and there was an open air food court which only open after 6pm just opposite the present Pos Office & Klinik Kesihatan. Also there was also the earliest pasar malam in town every thursday.
The present Pasar Kg Melayu is much bigger & spacious. There are wet market which still offer fresh fish, processed clean chicken, also fresh vegetables, processed santan any veg you normally find in wet market. Next to it is the food court which offer you local/breakfast, variety of food - lontong, mee rebus, mee bandung, satay (eat satay for breakfast like in Muar) soto, nasi briyani, cendol, ais kacang, kacang pool, nasi goreng ayam sambal, tom yam, yong tau hoo, mee goreng, mee bandung for food lover this is heaven for breakfast. Drop by if you happen to past by Kg Melayu Majidee.
Pasar Kg Melayu is most active in the morning 7am to 12pm. If you happen to be in Kg Melayu on Monday evening there is the Pasar Malam surrounding the market which offer variety of local food and lot of you to views. Parking space available around the market.
