Pusat Kegiatan Guru merupakan jalinan rancangan prasarana pendidikan dan pemangkin untuk merangsang pembangunan profesional guru-guru khususnya bagi meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pembudayaan teknologi pendidikan dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran serta penggunaan dan pengurusan pusat sumber sekolah. Ia selaras dengan matlamat pendidikan bestari dan Falasafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan.
 PSPD was renamed the Teacher Activity Center with the abbreviation PKG on 14 April 1990 and was given a broader role. The Teacher Activity Center is a network of educational infrastructure and catalysts to stimulate the professional development of teachers, especially to enhance knowledge and culture of educational technology in teaching and learning as well as the use and management of school resource centers. It is in line with the goals of smart education and the National Education Philosophy.
