The doctor helped me with acupuncture, cupping, and electrostatic therapy.... On the third day, the cervical spine was really loose. I haven’t had a headache for a few days... ???? have to go back for a follow-up visit in a few days

The clinic is highly unsanitary, they do not disinfect the electrical pads or treatment beds after each use, and do not bother to check body temperature when most of the patients are frail elderly who are more susceptible to catching an infection. As a result, I developed a bad allergic reaction midway through the treatments. The left side of my face and eye swelled up pretty seriously. It started with my eyes getting itchy and irritated after laying 25 minutes on the treatment bed with old towels instead of disposable ones lining the sides of the headrest. I was then transferred to another room with wet unhygienic pads placed all over my body. It gave me the chills and the itchiness got more intense, followed by an inflammatory response causing my nose to run. That being said, I wish to clarify that my treatment at this clinic was in the morning and I did not consume any foods 14 hours prior, nor did I take any of the medicinal herbs they offered. My allergic reaction was not from ingestion but external factors. When I returned to the car and took my mask off to check the mirror, I was appalled by the severity of my condition as my left eye and face were red and swollen. None of the employees nor the physician said a thing about my eye when it was so obviously swollen. I was in no state to drive and returned to the clinic with the intention to seek help from the physician to ease my symptoms and get directions to the nearest medical clinic. Instead of rendering help, I was met with the lady boss who was more concerned about protecting the clinic’s reputation and finding someone else to fault. She insinuated that it was my personal sinus issue at fault and started questioning her employee why she did not check with every patient if they have sinus problems before offering treatment. She also got very defensive and insisted they have strict protocols in place to disinfect every bed and treatment equipment. She subjected me to her excessive blabber despite the terrible state I was in and offered no help at all until I asked and I received ONLY what I had asked for – something to cleanse my eyes and directions to the medical clinic. The entire time the physician was in the room out of sight. It is unbecoming of a doctor to have zero compassion for their patients. He and the others made no attempt to check on me, give me ice for my swelling nor offer a bed to rest. On the contrary, it was the female employee who was genuinely apologetic and showed care by accompanying me to the medical clinic. I returned to the TCM clinic afterwards to inform them how I witnessed no unhygienic measures were taken as to what the lady boss had insisted was practised. I was hoping they would make things right by accepting my feedback and improve their hygiene standards in the future. Instead, I received from the lady boss more of her self-denial ‘reasonings’ and blame shifting to the employees. This time she could not deny the fact that I personally witnessed zero sanitisation of the treatment beds, equipment nor change of clean towels after each patient’s use so she had to admit that the sanitisation was only done once a day after clinic hours. Then she went on to blame the employees for their laziness and refusal to comply with her instructions, followed by she is too busy to check on them. All I heard was lots of bad excuses and denials of accountability for the mistakes. It is when things go wrong, you see the true nature of people. In this situation, all the physicians and the lady boss disappointingly lack of compassion and accountability and acted with only selfish intentions. I paid RM200 for a treatment to relive my headache that involved acupuncture, electrical pads and a 5 minute neck rub, but left with distress and an additional medical bill. My headache was not entirely relieved and continued to persist the next day with added pain to the left of my neck when I turn. I do hope the clinic will place their patients’ interests at heart and undertake sanitary measures after my feedback.
