Had a 1.3kg steamed fish head at rm68/kg. Saw another reviewer 1 week before this had it at rm60/kg. Not sure if this price is seasonal or otherwise. Price aside. Overall the dish is a good one. Didn't know soya, onion and calamansi can combine well with fish head. The underside of the fish head was especially good with lots of parts with collagen. Something uniquely good to try in Sitiawan.

Tried steam fish head. I ordered for 2 persons a fish head of small size. Too much of onion and with soya sauce. Fish was overcooked and too rough to my liking. But, I totally cannot accept a small fishead can cost me RM98. Total bill was RM101 for a breakfast. Totally overpriced and not worth.

Must try - delicious steaming grouper fish head in a soy sauce with lots of onion. The bak ku Teh in clay pot is absolutely delicious.

While Chai Chin mainly serves Bak Kut Teh with sweet and rich broth, its ultimate weapon is actually fish head. It was also one of the best steamed fishes we had ever tried, particularly due to its unique recipe using premium light soy sauce, topped with generous amount of red onion. Be sure to sprinkle it with limes provided for sui generis sweet and sour taste. Suitable for 4 pax and above. Be ready to create a hole in your pocket as a grouper’s tail can easily cost one green-blue banknote. Nonetheless, it is still worth the Cha-Ching in our opinion.

The bak kut teh was average at best. Steam fish head is nothing to shout about. Fish head was served not hot but only warm.

Their stir fry fish (can be stingray, fish head or maybe you can call to enquire if you have special fish request) is yummy. My relative brought shark meat and they stir fry it. Delicious. Ba kut teh is the dark soup version but the meat is alright, not too outstanding but serving size is good (image shows for 4) They serve other dishes too so it is good for gathering.
